(January 17th 2008  -  Editor)          CBS is trying a bold experiment in order to bring new shows to their primetime viewers during the writer's strike. The network has signed an agreement with sister cable station Showtime to bring their one hour drama series "Dexter" to a Sunday night time slot starting on February 17th.

         Based on the novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay, the acclaimed drama stars Michael C. Hall (Six Feet Under) Dexter Morgan, who in addition to being a likeable and friendly member of the Forensics Unit of the Miami Metro Police Department, is also a brutal serial killer. The series co-stars Julie Benz ("Angels," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"), Jennifer Carpenter ("The Exorcism of Emily Rose"), Erik King ("National Treasure"), Lauren Velez ("Oz"), David Zayas ("Michael Clayton") and James Remar ("Sex and the City").  The 12 episode first season of the series has been ordered by the network and will get some editing to bring the show to network censorship standards.

          ABC is trying a different approach to marketing their daytime celebrities. The network has assembled a collection of stars from their daytime dramas to perform on a special music CD titled "A Love Affair" the collaborative effort will be released in record stores and online on January 29th.

          ABC has announced the development of a new edition of the reality game show "The Mole". Former host Anderson Cooper will be replaced with an as yet uncast new host and the game will be improved with the addition of new "Whodunit" element and an increase in viewer interactivity.

          The game follows a group of players as they try to figure out who among them is The Mole, a saboteur trying to keep them from winning money. Players must decide who they think The Mole is and then learn as much about him or her as they can, because, at the end of each one-hour episode, the player who knows the least about The Mole is immediately eliminated from the game. In the final dramatic episode, The Mole is revealed and one of two final players wins a substantial cash prize.

          Producers are launching a nationwide search to replace Cooper. In addition to a new host, new features, new games, new locations and online and mobile interactivity are planned for the series. Casting for players begins immediately.
