(January 31st, 2008  -  Editor)          Comedian, actor and now game show host Drew Carey will return to primetime as the host of the classic game show The Price Is Right for six special episodes starting February 22nd and continuing for the following six consecutive weeks. The evening edition of the one hour game show will be very  much like the daytime version, but with bigger prizes and more fun from the host.

          CBS plans to bring back the number one reality game show on television, Survivor, for a 17th and 18th editions of the show. Host Jeff Probst has also signed on to remain with the series. Probst has been the host of the American version of Survivor since its debut in May of 2000.  Version 17th will debut in September of 2008 and version 18 will debut in February of 2009. Casting for episode 17 is underway now, while episode 16, Survivor: Micronesia, debuts on Thursday, February 7th.

          CBS has signed a unique deal with Canadian Production companies Pink Sky Entertainment and Avamar Entertainment to bring the one hour ensemble police drama Flashpoint to CBS in the United States and CTV in Canada. 13 episodes of the new series has been oprdered by the network to be broadcast later this year.

          Flashpoint, starring Enrico Colantoni, Hugh Dillon and David Paetkau, is an emotional journey into the tough, risk-filled lives of a group of cops in the SRU (inspired by Toronto's Emergency Task Force).  It's a unique unit that rescues hostages, busts gangs, defuses bombs, climbs the sides of buildings and talks down suicidal teens.  Members of a highly-skilled tactical team, they're also trained in negotiating, profiling and getting inside the suspect's head to diffuse the situation to try and save lives.

          Production will begin on the new one-hour drama in Toronto beginning in April.

          CBS is starting to announce the talent who will appear for the 50th Annual Grammy Awards, airing live on the network on Sunday, February 10th. Among the performers slated to appear live at The Staples Center in Los Angeles will be two tributes to The Beatles. The cast of the Cirque du Soleil will perform an excerpt from the live show "The Beatles: Love" and the cast of "Across The Universe" will also add their own tribute. Other performer scheduled to appear during the event include Feist, Alicia Keys, Brad Paisley, Beyoncé, Foo Fighters (with special guest conductor John Paul Jones), Carrie Underwood, 2008 MusiCares Person of the Year Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige, the Clark Sisters, Israel And New Breed and Trin-I-Tee 5:7 in a special gospel segment, and Rihanna with a reunited The Time in a special 50th anniversary segment.

          Eight-time GRAMMY Award winner Natalie Cole, 12-time Latin GRAMMY Award winner Juanes, GRAMMY Award winner Cyndi Lauper, three-time GRAMMY Award winner Bette Midler and nine-time GRAMMY Award winner Bonnie Raitt are among the presenters.

          NBC has announced the first of a series of auditions for the return of the performance competition "America's Got Talent" for a third season on the network. The first auditions were held in Orlando, Florida on January 26th and Nashville, Tennessee on January 30th. Additional auditions will be held in Charlotte on February 2nd. Additional audition locations will be announced soon.
          Singers, dancers, comedic performers and variety acts of all ages will have a chance to strut and perform in front of the show's producers, who will determine which acts will have a chance to appear on the show.
          Jerry Springer has agreed to return as host of the show and once again the various acts appearing on the show will be presided over by celebrity judges David Hasselhoff, Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne.

          Additional audition dates will be announced soon and America's Got Talent will return to the air later this season

          ABC has made a deal with Marvel Comics that will see key visual references from the show `Lost` in popular Marvel Comics, including Uncanny X-Men, Incredible Hercules, Thunderbolts and Wolverine Origins. Examples of "Lost" references include a "Lost" poster, the number 6, and the slogan "Find Yourself" in the latest editions of numerous Marvel comics throughout the month. Expect more "Lost" placements to pop up in comic books on stands January 23 and January 30.

          Barbara Walters offers a never-before-seen glimpse at the most famous royalty in the world, the royal family of Great Britain, in the two hour special `The Royal Family`, airing Monday, March 3rd, on ABC. From Queen Elizabeth II to Prince William and Prince Harry, the documentary crew from RDF USA filmed the British monarchy for more than a year, with unparalleled access to the working monarchy and their private spaces and lives. Culled from hundreds of hours of footage of the Queen and her family in both public and private settings, this special marks the first time in the history of the British monarchy that anyone has been allowed such complete access.

          NBC will commemorate the century-old tradition of Mother's Day with a nationwide search to find "America's Favorite Mom". The network will give proud children and adults across the country the chance to nominate their moms and one inspirational mother will be crowned America's Favorite on NBC's special, which will air Sunday, May 11th.

          The search began on January 7, when family and friends of inspirational moms began logging on to AmericasFavoriteMom.com to nominate their mothers. Once the nominations are collected, the top-25 nominees will appear on NBC's top-rated "Today" show throughout the week before the primetime television special, and viewers will have the chance to vote for their favorite mom at the end of each show.
          After the nominees have appeared on the "Today" show and viewers have cast their vote on NBC.com, the winning mom from each day of the week will be featured the television special. At the end of the program, one mom will be crowned "America's Favorite Mom" and a rose will be named in her honor. She will also receive thousands of dollars in cash and prizes, including an 18-carat, gold heart-shaped "America's Favorite Mom" pendant trimmed with diamonds.
