This astonishing experiment repeatedly changes lives and redefines families.

"EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION" - "Jordan Family" -- Faced with the devastating losses of a daughter in 1995 to domestic violence and then a son eight years later to a drunk driver, Monica and Brady Jordan responded not with bitterness or self-pity but with dedicated, passionate service to their community. They're now raising their three grandchildren, are strong advocates of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and open their home to more than 100 youngsters each week who need a safe place to hang out. The Jordans make sure their home is a welcoming and safe haven where kids in the neighborhood drop by to eat, sleep, socialize and be mentored under their roof. But their house has gone without repair in years; their bathroom leaks into their kitchen, and some of the house siding has blown off. Thousands of meals have been cooked in a kitchen that's falling apart, has no overhead light, rotting counters and a stove that barely works. They have given so much for their cause and their community that M.A.D.D and the Alabama Police Department felt it was time for the Jordans to get something back. Now it's up to Ty and his designers to step in and help this family who have devoted themselves to protecting and guiding countless others. "SUPERNANNY" -- "Krolikowski Family" -- Shannon and John both have high profile jobs at a large church, but their home is a far cry from a peaceful sanctuary. All four of their children fight with each other so viciously and so frequently that mom usually intervenes only if someone has drawn blood. That happens regularly because the kids bite, pinch, kick and pull hair for all they're worth. Mom's yelling isn't working, and Dad says he spanks to discipline, since he doesn't believe that timeouts or talking work. But in spite of the hardline tactics, neither parent has much authority. His heroism hit close to home when son Aaron was run over by a garbage truck as he was emptying the garbage on the street for pickup. Although Jeff kept his son alive performing vital lifesaving procedures, Aaron lost most of his right arm. While this family has endured many trials, they've remained upbeat and happy. But life in their ill equipped home is hard: It's a moisture-plagued double wide with poor electrical, a sinking roof and a rotting wheelchair ramp. While Ty and the designers, local builder Aronov Homes, Inc and hundreds of volunteers and workers are rebuilding their home, the Cooper family will go on vacation to Washington, DC. While there, the family meets former U.S. Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Colin L. Powell, who presents them with a gift. His triumphant spirit and positive attitude, considering his daily fight against the symptoms of a complex and incurable neurological syndrome, may make you wonder: How does he remain an "incurable optimist"? Fox travels across the globe to explore the enduring strength of hope. He talks to both famous and everyday people, venturing everywhere from the Far East to President Barack Obama's inspiring inauguration - all for a one-hour special, "Michael J. Chuck Cerda works as a Homeland Security police officer, and his wife, Terri, has worked all her life in global relief, organizing search & rescue dog services during disasters such as the Mexico City earthquakes and the Colombia mudslides. She's also worked as a volunteer for a number of community organizations, including the fire department and ambulance service. Terri has used her experience as an advocate and mother of two ill children to found Artful Hearts, which gives painting murals to organizations, clinics and foundations that operate to support other children fighting life threatening medical conditions. She also works as a patient advocate for the Immune Deficiency Foundation, a position which has taken her to Washington, DC to meet with senators to influence laws governing medications that could save thousands of lives. In 2004 the Cerdas were fraudulently sold a home that was in poor condition while their oldest daughter lay in intensive care. After six floods, they were forced to make repairs themselves, but after a recent inspection, structural engineers advised them to gut the house or tear it down and rebuild. The survivors have also found signs of those who came to the island before them, including a 19th century sailing ship called The Black Rock, a downed Beechcraft plane from a failed drug run, the remains of an ancient statue, as well as bunkers belonging to the Dharma Initiative -- a group of scientific researchers who inhabited the island in the recent past. They also encountered a freighter stationed off the island that some thought would lead to their rescue, but ultimately almost caused their extinction. The band of friends, family, enemies and strangers must continue to work together against all odds if they want to stay alive. After taking a job at Mode Magazine, the bible of the fashion industry, Betty's indomitable spirit and bright ideas wins over the respect of her Mode cohorts despite continuous predictions of failure. She thrives in the ultra-competitive environment in spite of her lack of fashion sense. Betty forms an unlikely team with her boss, Daniel Meade, the co-editor in chief of Mode

Magazine, as they help one another navigate the choppy waters of NYC's shark infested fashion scene. Now she must prove that she is not just a super assistant with no fashion sense, but an aspiring career woman and editor-to-be while balancing her tumultuous love life and her familial responsibilities.

"WIFE SWAP"
Each week two very contradictory families from across the country participate in a two-week-long challenge: The wives exchange husbands, children and lives (but not bedrooms) to discover daily life in another woman's shoes. This astonishing experiment repeatedly changes lives and redefines families.

In the first week of the swap, the wives move in and adopt their new family's lifestyle no matter how different it may be. They agree to follow a manual written by the departing wife that sets out the rules of their new household - how they parent, shop, do the house work, manage their budgets and their social life. In the second week, everything changes. The new wives take charge. They introduce their own set of rules and get to run the new household their way. It's a radical shock to both families. The results are explosive, enlightening, emotional and often comical.

At the end of the show, the two couples meet for the first time. In a highly-charged exchange of views, both couples make a frank assessment of each other and talk about what they've learned from the experience.

Universal City, Ca., April 29th, 2009.                NBC has picked up the hit series "The Celebrity Apprentice" for another season in Spring 2010, it was announced today by Ben Silverman, Co-Chairman, NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios

"'The Celebrity Apprentice' is the ultimate business and reality show at the top of its game and has exploded in popularity this season while also raising an impressive amount of money for charity," said Paul Telegdy, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, NBC and Universal Media Studios. "It's a valuable franchise and proven competitor and we're thrilled to have Mr. Trump and Mr. Burnett back to create another brilliant season." "

'The Apprentice' and 'Celebrity Apprentice' have been an amazing adventure for me and, obviously, a very popular show with the public," said executive producer Donald Trump. "Its Emmy nominations and great success have translated into a wonderful experience. Working with Mark Burnett has been terrific, and I am greatly honored that NBC has renewed us for yet another season, our ninth."

"The Celebrity Apprentice" is averaging a 3.5 rating, 9 share among adults 18-49 and 8.6 million viewers overall this season. The popular unscripted series is up 39 percent versus NBC's non-sports adult 18-49 average in the time period prior to "Apprentice" ("live plus same day") and is doubling its lead-in from the 8-9 p.m. hour in adults 18-49. In the 10:30 lead-in to local news, "Celebrity Apprentice" has out-rated all regular competition for the last six weeks in a row in the key news demographic of adults 25-54.

After last year's ratings blockbuster, "The Celebrity Apprentice" and host Donald Trump returned last January with a dynamic cast of celebrities. The 16 new celebrities have vied for the coveted title, using all their business savvy as they fight for causes close to their hearts. They use their fame, their rolodexes and their business acumen to win weekly tasks, while ultimately battling with each other to stay out of the boardroom and avoid hearing those dreaded words, "You're Fired!."

TRUMP NAMES THE TWO FINALISTS IN THE MOST INTENSE BOARDROOM EVER ON THE NEXT CELEBRITY APPRENTICE SUNDAY, MAY 3 (9-11 P.M. ET) ON NBC

New York, N.Y. April 27th, 2009.
After last night's fierce struggle between Melissa Rivers, Annie Duke and Brande Roderick, Trump fired Melissa, and Joan stormed out threatening never to return. In the next episode airing Sunday, May 3 (9-11 p.m. ET), the teams must pull together to write and perform a new jingle for Chicken of the Sea, leaving the two finalists.

The teams write and perform a new jingle for Chicken of the Sea, including the famous lyric "Ask any mermaid you happen to see - what's the best tuna? Chicken of the Sea." The teams are also asked to create a 30-second radio spot that incorporates a portion of the new jingle. While one team sets differences aside in order to fully utilize their talents, the other team succumbs to panic, feeling incapable of rising to the challenge. With a trip to the final four on the line, one team sings their way to victory, and Trump fires another celebrity. Next he calls on the reigning Celebrity Apprentice, Piers Morgan, to interview the remaining contestants and tell him which two should face off in the finale. After Piers puts each celebrity through the wringer, he reports back – but ultimately it is Trump's decision. With the final celebrities pleading their cases in the boardroom, Trump fires more celebrities and names the finalists.

Clint Black, Annie Duke, Jesse James, Brande Roderick and Joan Rivers are the remaining five celebrities vying to be "The Celebrity Apprentice."

The winning script will automatically receive consideration to be produced by Procter & Gamble Productions. Scripts must present an original idea for a potential half-hour comedy series. Opening date for script submissions is June 1, 2009.

“A major goal of the New York Television Festival has always been to provide opportunities for new and talented voices to be heard by the TV industry, and this year’s Comedy Script Contest is a revolutionary step toward that goal,” said NYTVF founder Terence Gray.  “We are honored to be working with innovators such as FOX and Procter & Gamble Productions on a project that continues to represent an exciting and unprecedented alternative to the existing network television development model.”

“FOX has been a proud supporter of the NYTVF for five years running,” said Kevin Reilly, President of Entertainment for the network. “This contest, now in its second year, is a marker of our commitment to reaching beyond traditional avenues to discover new voices and to shake up the comedy development process. In fact, we are currently in pre-production on a pilot to be produced by Ben Stiller and written by Kevin Napier, a NYTVF Fellowship recipient.”

“Now in our third year as a Signature Sponsor, we are proud to continue our support of the NYTVF,” said Brian T. Cahill, Senior VP, Managing Director of TeleNext Media, Inc., which manages production of soap operas and other television and new media content for PGP.  “Building on our relationship with the NYTVF, we’re thrilled to be able to partner with FOX on a project that incorporates both the production and the distribution of a new comedy series.”

The script contest is open to US Residents age 18 and over who do not have any contractual commitments preventing them from entering into an exclusive development deal with FOX. All scripts not currently under development at a network, studio, or major production company and meeting all other criteria in the Official Rules located at http://nytvf.com/2009_scripts_info.htm are eligible for the competition. Scripts must be between 25 and 35 pages in a proper screenwriting format to be eligible.

Writers can enter by submitting a copy of their script online to the New York Television Festival. Scripts must be saved in a PDF file format and uploaded to the official contest Web site located at http://nytvf.com/2009_scripts_contest.htm. The NYTVF will begin accepting uploaded scripts on June 1, 2009 at 12:00 PM Eastern. The deadline for submissions is June 15, 2009 at 12:00 PM Eastern, or when 1,500 submissions are received, whichever comes first.

A screening committee of NYTVF officials will narrow the pool of entrants down to 25 finalists. These finalists will be presented to FOX and PGP development executives. ABC ORDERS 13 EPISODES OF COPPER

New York, N.Y.  April 23rd, 2009.          ABC has ordered 13 episodes of leading independent studio E1 Entertainment's original drama series, "Copper," which will air in conjunction with Canwest Global in Canada.

"Copper" is a youthful, heartfelt, one-hour, character-driven workplace drama about five rookie cops plunged into the high stakes world of big city policing - a world where even the smallest mistake can have life-or-death consequences. The series follows this group of new cops just out of the police academy, where they bonded together, fought together, drank together, worked together and slept together. And now they're on the job together. They're kids with guns, learning firsthand the hardest kind of policing there is. They're first responders, and they're about to learn that no amount of training prepares you for life.

"When we initially commissioned the pilot and then the series, we knew that it was a high-calibre production and worthy of international audiences," said Barbara Williams, executive vice president, Content, Canwest broadcasting. "We could not be happier with the partnership and are confident that E1 will deliver a great show for Global and ABC to simulcast"

"This project, co-created with Morwyn Berbner, Ellen Vanstone and Tassie Cameron, who will also serve as series showrunner, arose out of our overall deal with executive producer Ilana Frank and her company, Thump, Inc.," said John Moryaniss, E1 Television's CEO. "Securing a 13-episode series order based on a pitch is extremely rare and is a testament to E1's position as a leading creative supplier of programming. Our ability to combine our creative auspices, business acumen and alternative sources of financing makes our series very appealing to U.S. buyers."

Experts say over the next hundred years the "perfect storm" of population growth, resource depletion and climate change could converge with catastrophic results. Each episode looks at the poignant and sometimes shocking secrets of families -- why they keep them, how they keep them, and what happens when the truth finally surfaces. The topics explored this summer include teen pregnancy, as told by the young adults themselves, and breaking the cycle of child abuse. This series is scheduled to air through Tuesday, July 21.

PRIMETIME: CRIME - WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24 (10:00-11:00 p.m.) -- "Primetime: Crime" goes deep inside real cases, with unusual access to the criminal process, new investigations and exclusive interviews. This season's compelling cases include what federal investigators call possibly the worst serial date rapist of all time, who seduced dozens of women while posing as a doctor, astronaut and CIA agent; and the high society trial of Manhattan philanthropist and socialite Brooke Astor, whose son is charged with abusing his mother and defrauding her estate of millions of dollars. The series also retraces the twists and turns of some cold cases, providing new clues and forensic evidence. This series is scheduled to air through Wednesday, September 9.

OIL WITH CHARLES GIBSON - WEDNESDAY, JULY 15 (10:00-11:00 p.m.) -- Oil affects nearly every aspect of people's lives, yet most have no idea why prices keep going up and down and who's pulling the strings. In an hour special, ABC News Anchor Charles Gibson investigates how the oil business works, who's making money and how average Americans are at the mercy of the biggest industry in the world. Gibson travels around the globe, visiting oil fields in the Middle East and challenging Saudi sheikhs who rule the oil cartel. He also meets with Wall Street traders who are being investigated by Congress for causing gas to cost more than $4 a gallon last summer. As millions of Americans get ready for their summer vacations driving and flying across the country, this ABC hour will help people get a handle of what the price of gas is going to be... and why. This special will air instead of the regularly scheduled "Primetime: Crime" on Wednesday, July 15.

J.K. ROWLING: A YEAR IN THE LIFE - THURSDAY, JULY 16 (8:00-9:00 p.m.) -- The woman who created an imaginary world for millions, J.K. Rowling, allowed cameras extraordinary access during the year before the 7th Harry Potter book was published. From the one bedroom apartment in Scotland where it all began to a hotel room where viewers watch her type the last words of the Potter saga, Rowling lets millions of fans into her world. The documentary exposes her childhood sorrows, visits the church where she and her sister worked after-school as janitors, and allows people to see her now as both the queen of a magical, alternate universe and an everyday mom. Cameras also travel back to her hometown and discover where many of the characters of Harry Potter originated. Upon the release of the latest Harry Potter movie, Elizabeth Vargas takes viewers on a journey into the life of the woman who came from "nothing" and created all of her own success.

PRIMETIME: THE OUTSIDERS - TUESDAY, JULY 28 (10:00-11:00 p.m.) -- The limited series takes viewers into the lives of people who live in worlds unfamiliar to the rest of society. One episode follows two men living with lions and their jaw-dropping attempts to help save the species. Another takes a rare look at people born with the condition of albinism, where in some parts of the world their appearance has them literally fighting for their lives. This series is scheduled to air through Tuesday, September 8.

CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL: COUNTRY'S NIGHT TO ROCK - MONDAY, AUGUST 31 (8:00-11:00 p.m.)
-- You're invited to summer's hottest music event when ABC heads to Nashville for "CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock." Filming June 11-14, today's most exciting Country Music sensations will hit the stage in a four-day party and music celebration for the special, which, for the first time ever, will be expanded from two hours to three to include even more high wattage performances.

Some of the artists already announced to appear at the nightly concerts include Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Julianne Hough, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, John Rich, Darius Rucker, Taylor Swift and Wynonna (with a special appearance by The Judds), plus many more to be announced and surprise appearances by Country superstars - a hallmark of CMA Music Festival.

The annual music festival is unlike any other, with four days, 30 hours of autograph signings by Country Music's biggest names and up and comers, 100 hours of live music, and a party list of thousands of avid, singing and dancing-till-dawn fans. This is the sixth time ABC will broadcast this special -- which invites the whole country to America's biggest Country Music bash -- since the original Fan Fair(r) was launched in 1972. Last year more than 191,000 fans attended CMA Music Festival over its four days, its biggest turnout yet.

PRIMETIME: WHAT WOULD YOU DO? - RETURNING THIS SUMMER (AIRDATE TBD) -- The highly rated news magazine returns this August using hidden cameras to capture people's reactions to provocative situations. Whether people are compelled to act or mind their own business, John Quiñones reports on their split-second and often surprising decision-making process. The series reveals what people actually do in the face of everyday dilemmas that test their character and values.

NBC.COM BRINGS MORE ADVERTISING INNOVATION TO DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT EXPERIENCE

Universal City, Ca., April 28th, 2009.               NBC.com is bringing more innovation to the digital entertainment marketplace than any other broadcast network site. From new ad delivery solutions to full-episode widgets, NBC.com is offering even more options to both users and advertisers. The announcements were made by Vivi Zigler, President, NBC Universal Digital Entertainment.

"We believe that it is possible to give our users a rewarding entertainment experience and provide our advertising partners an effective marketing environment," said Zigler. "These new creative units, along with our current offerings, give our clients tremendous flexibility."

"The new suite of products offers the advertisers the best opportunity to tell their story in a variety of ad spaces that are adjacent to our great content," said Peter Naylor, Senior Vice President, NBC Universal Digital Media Sales.

NBC.com is leading the market by creating new advertising opportunities in and around high-quality, organic entertainment content. These new online ad applications allow brands to stay front and center as users interact with the content around their favorite shows. New ad opportunities include:

Choose An Ad - Users will be able to select the ad they view allowing advertisers to create custom ads for the same or separate product lines as well as giving users the opportunity to play one extended ad followed by a commercial free presentation or a traditional ad followed by a limited-interruption presentation.

Pause Unit - When the user pauses their video experience, the sponsor's ad will appear next to the video – again extending the branding experience.

Push Back Unit - A 300x50 ad unit appears under the clip within the inline video – on rollover, the same unit expands to 300x250 ad. User can close the 300x250 and resume viewing the clip.

Rail Ad - Framing the homepage of NBC.com, this unique branding opportunity is impossible to miss, creating a unique opportunity to surround NBC.com's content offering with the advertisers unique look and feel.

Pushdown Ad - This ad will replace the current FSA (full site arrival ad) offering. Using a widely accepted ad spec, this larger premium ad unit allows for more innovative and creative brand messaging in a user-initiated expandable unit.

Pop Out Player - Our new pop-out video player creates a compact viewing screen, allowing users to multi-task while watching their favorite clips and shows.

Photo Interstitial - Our all-new photo slide show allows advertisers to integrate an ad unit into the photo stream.

NBC.com is also preparing to launch a series of comprehensive data-informed targeting solutions, leveraging multiple data sources. Targetable segments will include behavioral, geographical and demographic variations. Once enabled, advertisers on NBC.com will be able to target groups of users using a menu style selection matching their target to NBC audience clusters or custom segments enabling us to locate the advertisers target or in-market audience. These targeting capabilities will begin launching on NBC.com starting in Q2 2009 and fully ready for upfront 2009/10 activity.

Building on the enormous success of the short-clip video widgets, NBC.com is launching an ad-supported Full Episode video widget, allowing users to watch full episodes of their favorite shows on their own websites, blogs and social media sites.

QUOTABLES FROM 'LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON'

April 20 – April 24

"Oprah Winfrey joined Twitter today! We finally have a way to know what's on Oprah's mind. So now she finally has a way to speak directly to her fans. Fans who don't like TV, magazines, books, the internet, shopping, travel, and food. Yeah, we finally have a way to know what's on Oprah's mind."

"Bobby Jindal, the Republican Governor of Louisiana, he criticized Dick Cheney today, saying he shouldn't question Obama's patriotism. In response, Cheney said: "I respect your opinion, that's cool," and "Hey, would you like to go on a hunting trip next week?""

"John Madden announced that he's retiring from broadcasting at the age of seventy-three. Madden is really excited actually, because this means he can finally let himself go."
"At the retirement party, they gave him a gold watch inside a duck that was inside a turkey. Deep fried in a vat. It's a Watchducken."

"Surgeons discovered a two-inch tall fir tree growing inside a man's lung this week. The guy knew something was wrong when he started coughing up squirrels."
"He wants to have it removed, but he's having trouble getting a permit from the city."
"On the bright side, he's now vomiting Christmas presents."

"And finally in California, a school board member was found guilty of stealing a bottle of ketchup from the college dining hall. They got him to confess by repeatedly smacking him on the bottom until the truth came out."

"It's "Green is Universal" week at NBC and we're doing our part here at Late Night. In fact, our whole monologue tonight is recycled from Friday's show."

"Everyone here at the network is pitching in. They scheduled our primetime lineup to encourage people to turn their TVs off."

"Congrats to Miss North Carolina, Kristen Dalton, who won the Miss USA Pageant last night. So I guess Republicans have a VP candidate for 2012."

"A new study shows that Austin, Texas is the best city to find employment. The worst city to find employment? Circuit City."

"Madonna was thrown from a horse this weekend after the horse was startled by the paparazzi. The injuries are pretty serious – she still hasn't regained full use of her British accent."
