CATHY GROSAM WON $250,000 ON SEASON FINALE OF "I SURVIVED A JAPANESE GAME SHOW" ON ABC

New York, N.Y., August 6th, 2009.               "I Survived a Japanese Game Show" is the hilarious, behind-the-scenes and ground-breaking show giving 12 Americans a real, life-changing adventure by whisking them away to Tokyo to compete in the ultimate Japanese game show. Each week, a player was eliminated. Rome Kanda ("Pink Panther," "Saturday Night Live") was the game show host leading the contestants through all of the zany challenges; Mama-San was the house mother and resident pot stirrer; and Judge Bob was the rarely dynamic, but always entertaining referee of the games.

Here were a few of the games in the season finale:

SMELLY FISH FACE
One contestant dressed as a clown used a nozzle to shoot stinky and horrible tasting fish sauce through holes in a wall, while a teammate behind that wall collected the fish sauce in their mouth and deposited it into a receptacle. The team that accumulated the most fish sauce in the receptacle in 3 minutes won.

BALLOON ASSASSIN
Contestants were dressed in muscle shirts and wore gorilla arms. They jumped on a trampoline and used their gorilla hands to pop as many overhanging balloons as possible in 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

TIME TO MAKE NEW FRIENDS IN JAPAN
Contestants on designated streets had to complete designated tasks in order of fastest possible time. Tasks included: getting a stranger to put lipstick on them and then give that stranger a kiss; getting a stranger to bow 10 times; making a stranger tickle them; borrow a cell phone from a stranger and make a call; and getting 5 strangers to do a chorus line can-can.

"A very Happy Birthday to President Obama, who turns 48 tomorrow. As a special gift, Joe Biden is giving him 24 hours of complete silence."

"There was a rumor on the Internet this weekend that Sarah Palin was getting divorced. I knew that wasn't true. When Sarah Palin takes an "oath", she doesn't just bail—oh, nevermind."

"At his concert in Washington, D.C. this weekend, Paul McCartney dedicated the song "Michelle" to Michelle Obama. Then he dedicated "Tax Man" to President Obama, and "I Am The Walrus" to Kevin Federline."

"This weekend, Russian Prime-Minister Vladimir Putin took a submarine to the bottom of Lake Baikal the world's deepest lake. He got to see some rare exotic fish and his past political opponents."

"The sixth season of "The Hills" will begin next month without Lauren Conrad. You can't do the Hills without Lauren Conrad. That's like doing the Cosby show without Denise's husband."

"Animal Control in Las Vegas caught a tiger that was wandering the streets, after it escaped from a magic act. When they returned the tiger, the magician said, "Tah-Dah?""

"A teenager in England tracked down a Gang that stole his iPhone by using the "Find My iPhone" app – which allows users to track down lost phones if they are lost or stolen. The funeral is Wednesday."

"In Tennessee this weekend, a Wal-Mart employee was bitten while fighting off a shoplifter. Luckily – since it was a Wal-Mart – there were no teeth involved."

"A very Happy Birthday to President Obama, who turned 48 today. It was great, everyone at the White house sang Happy Birthday… except for Joe Biden – he accidentally sang the launch codes."

"David Beckham is teaming up with Arnold Schwarzenegger to promote California tourism. It's all part of Arnold's plan to make California just as popular as American soccer."

"It's big day for Eli. He's going to celebrate by going to a club and shooting himself in the leg."

"I just heard President Obama made Vanity Fair's Best Dressed of 2009 List. So I guess they're not counting the "ironed mom jeans" he wore to the All Star game? Those things had pleats. They were Z Cavarichies. (And Z, if you're watching, send me a few pairs, buddy.)"

"Research shows that the use of anti-depressants in the U.S. has more than doubled over 10 years. Well at least people who make anti-depressants are happy, I guess"

"A non-alcoholic' beer for dogs has just been introduced. By the way, if you need to switch your dog to a non-alcoholic beer, then you should probably stop drinking as well. "

"Did you see that photo of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin? (show photo) He said he was just vacationing in Siberia. It looks like he's posing for the cover of the World's Worst romance novel.
