MILLIONAIRE QUICK TAKE

New York, N.Y., August 24th, 2009.               For the first time in the history of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" in the U.S., a contestant took a shot at the million dollar question and got it wrong. Ken Basin, an entertainment lawyer from Los Angeles, California, walked away with $25,000 in winnings after incorrectly guessing the answer to the million dollar question on Sunday's finale episode of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" with Regis Philbin.

ONE MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION:

Category, 'Bottoms Up!' - "For ordering his favorite beverages on demand, LBJ had four buttons installed in the Oval Office labeled 'coffee,' '"tea,' 'Coke' and what?"

A: Fresca, B: V8, C: Yoo-hoo, D: A&W."

Ken used his "Ask the Audience" lifeline and the studio audience voted as follows: A=15% B=12% C=40% D=33%. At this point, Ken had the option of not guessing and walking away with the guaranteed $500,000 that he had already won. He decided to trust the studio audience, despite the fact that there was a slim margin between C and D. Ken guessed C, but unfortunately the correct answer was A, so fell back to $25,000 in winnings.

As a surprise to the players who didn't advance from the fastest-finger round to the Hot Seat, Regis Philbin and visiting celebrity Meredith Vieira informed them that they're all going to appear as contestants on the syndicated version of "Millionaire," hosted by Vieira, when it returns on September 7 (check local listings).

BRAD PAISLEY AND CARRIE UNDERWOOD WILL RETURN TO HOST "THE 43rd ANNUAL CMA AWARDS," LIVE FROM NASHVILLE, NOV. 11 ON ABC

Los Angeles, Ca., August 26th, 2009.               The reigning CMA Male and Female Vocalists of the Year, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, will reunite to host "The 43rd Annual CMA Awards." "The 43rd Annual CMA Awards" will be broadcast live from the Sommet Center in Nashville, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 11 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

"I am thrilled to get the chance to co-host the CMAs for a second time with my pal, Carrie," said Paisley. "This year we'll pull out all the stops, like a miniature poodle balancing act, tightrope walking, and a new world record for the number of costume changes by my co-host. Don't miss it!"

"I regret to inform Brad that I do not have a poodle, and I would appreciate it if he asks me permission before he tries on all my dresses this year," responded Underwood. "But all kidding aside, I'm really excited to be hosting again this year with Brad, as we celebrate another wonderful year of Country Music! It's going to be a great show!"

Paisley has won 11 CMA Awards since receiving the Horizon Award in 2000, including Male Vocalist (2007, 2008) and Album (2006 for "Time Well Wasted"). He also won: Musical Event twice, first in 2004 with Alison Krauss for "Whiskey Lullaby," and the second time in 2006 for "When I Get Where I'm Going" with Dolly Parton; Vocal Event in 2001 for "Too Country," with Bill Anderson, George Jones and Buck Owens; and Music Video of the Year three times, first in 2002 for "I'm Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin' Song)"; the second time in 2004 for "Whiskey Lullaby" (again with Krauss), and third in 2007 for "Online." He is currently tied with Garth Brooks and Tim McGraw at No. 5 on the list of top CMA Award winners. A consummate singer, songwriter, guitarist and entertainer, Paisley has earned three Grammy Awards. He has released eight critically acclaimed studio albums that have accumulated sales of over 10 million units, including the Double Platinum-certified "Time Well Wasted." His most recent album, "American Saturday Night," was released on June 30 and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums sales chart. He is also a featured performer on "CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock," airing Monday, August 31 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Underwood has received five CMA Awards in her young career, including three consecutive wins as Female Vocalist (2006-2008), as well as Single of the Year (2007 for "Before He Cheats") and the Horizon Award (2006). After wrapping her 2008 concert tour with 1.2 million fans in attendance, She launched into 2009 as the first Country artist in history to achieve 10 No. 1 singles from her first two albums; "I Told You So" became her 10th single to top a key sales or airplay chart and her fifth consecutive chart-topper from "Carnival Ride." To date, Underwood, who has also won four Grammy Awards, is the U.S. best-selling "American Idol" winner, with album sales over 10 million. NEW LOOK FOR NBC'S "FOOTBALL NIGHT IN AMERICA"

New York, N.Y.,  August 26th, 2009.               NBC Sports today announced a new look for its Emmy Award-nominated NFL studio show "Football Night in America." The show, which will still offer the most complete highlights and analysis from the day's NFL action, will increase its emphasis on that night's "Sunday Night Football" matchup, highlighted by Bob Costas moving from the studio to hosting the show from the game site.

Costas, the most honored studio host of all time with 19 Emmy Awards, will host the show from a set at the "Sunday Night Football" game site. He will be joined by the new SNF broadcast team of Al Michaels, a six-time Emmy Award-winner whom the Associated Press has called "TV's best play-by-play announcer," and Cris Collinsworth, the most honored studio analyst in sports television history, winning the award in nine of the 12 years of its existence and winning two additional Emmys for game analyst. Collinsworth moves from the studio to the broadcast booth alongside Michaels to replace the recently-retired John Madden.

"At our best we aspire to give the viewer the best seat in the house -- not the hype around the event, but the story of the event itself," said Ebersol. "Bob has proven time and again that he is unmatched in his ability to appropriately set the scene and tell the story of an event. Having the two premier broadcasters of their generation in Bob and Al on site and appearing together alongside Cris, the best analyst in the business, adds an immediacy that makes 'Sunday Night Football' an even bigger event."

Costas said: "Hosting from the site of the game, being in the stadium surrounded by the fans and the energy and atmosphere of the event, creates an urgency and a sense of place that can't be duplicated in the studio. And of course, this allows me to keep working with Cris, while at the same time building on the special chemistry I developed with Al Michaels in BASEketball."

Michaels said: "When you look at the Sunday Night Football schedule, it's clear that a good percentage of the time, our game will be the glamour matchup of the weekend. Having Bob on site will help boost the profile of the event and make sure everything worth knowing before the game will be covered by the best host in sports television history.

"On another level, getting him out of the studio 'green room' on Sundays and into the trenches will save 20-25% of the catering budget and should provide an immediate boost for GE stock."

Collinsworth: "We finally showed Bob how much fun it was to get out of the studio during the Olympics last summer and he loved it. It's going to be great to be able to work with both Al and Bob, and to still be a part of the studio show and talk about the big events of the day."

Dan Patrick and Keith Olbermann, who together redefined sports highlights during their time at ESPN, successfully reunited last year on "Football Night" and will continue their partnership. They are joined at NBC's 30 Rockefeller Plaza studios by Tony Dungy, the historic Super Bowl coach whose teams made the playoffs each of the last 10 seasons, unprecedented in this era, the outspoken two-time Super Bowl winner Rodney Harrison and Sports Illustrated's Peter King. "Football Night's" Tiki Barber will report from the site of one of the NFL's big games as he did towards the end of last season.

HIGHLIGHTS OF "NBC SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL" SCHEDULE

· All 12 NFL playoff teams from last season are featured.
· Fourteen of NBC's 16 scheduled games involve at least one playoff team from last season.
· Giants at Cowboys opens the $1.2 billion Dallas Cowboys Stadium, "the 8th Wonder of the World." It's a rematch of the most viewed game ever on "Sunday Night Football."
· Three appearances a piece from six marquee teams: this year's Super Bowl champion Steelers, last year's Super Bowl champion Giants plus Dallas, Indianapolis, Chicago and Philadelphia.
· Six games involving one of the Manning brothers, Peyton and Eli.
· Quarterback duels between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, Peyton and Kurt Warner, Philip Rivers and Ben Roethlisberger and Donovan McNabb and Jay Cutler.
· Four matchups among bitter NFC East rivals: Giants-Cowboys, Cowboys-Eagles, Eagles-Giants and Cowboys-Redskins.
· A rematch of last year's hard-hitting AFC Championship game between Pittsburgh and Baltimore and last year's AFC divisional playoff game between the Steelers and the Chargers.

FAITH HILL PERFORMS "SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL" OPENING THEME ... AGAIN

New York, N.Y., August 25th, 2009.
NBC Sports will again feature five-time Grammy Award-winner and multi-platinum recording artist Faith Hill performing the opening theme for NBC "Sunday Night Football," "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night."

Hill's "Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" debuts this season on Sunday, Sept. 13, the first "Sunday Night Football" broadcast of 2009 featuring the oldest rivalry in the NFL as the Green Bay Packers host the Chicago Bears in the debut of new Bears quarterback Jay Cutler. The opening theme will continue weekly, kicking off "Sunday Night Football" throughout the NFL season on NBC.

"It really is an honor to be asked back to do the Sunday Night Football open again," said Faith. "It's been fun to film and everyone at NBC has made me feel like a part of their family. I'm looking forward to the season."

"Faith Hill singing 'Waiting All Day for Sunday Night' is a signature of Sunday Night Football," said Fred Gaudelli, "NBC Sunday Night Football" producer. "We are thrilled to have one of America's most popular recording stars back with NBC for a third season."

Hill has sold 30 million records worldwide and topped the charts with 11 No. 1 singles and 20 No. 1 videos throughout her 15-year career. Her last three studio album releases, 1999's BREATHE, 2002's CRY and 2005's FIREFLIES all debuted consecutively at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Pop Album Chart and Country Chart, making her the only female artist ever to accomplish this feat.

"Waiting All Day for Sunday Night" is set to the original Joan Jett song, "I Hate Myself for Loving You." She recorded the track with her longtime producer Byron Gallimore at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, Tenn. The video was shot at Universal Orlando Resort.

Hill has established herself as one of the music industry's top vocalists, with a voice that is as powerful as it is recognizable. She is the first musical artist to return as the featured performer of an NFL open since Hank Williams, Jr.

NFL & NBC ANNOUNCE TWO-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION

New York, N.Y., August 19th, 2009.
The National Football League and NBC Sports today announced a two-year extension of their broadcast partnership under which NBC will remain the home of "Sunday Night Football" for the 2012 and 2013 seasons. NFL clubs approved the extension at a league meeting today in Chicago.

The original six-year deal between NBC Sports and the NFL, which includes innovative flexible scheduling, started with the 2006 season and runs through the 2011 season. As with the original agreement, NBC will broadcast 16 regular season "Sunday Night Football" games, each season's "NFL Opening Kickoff" Thursday night primetime game, both Wild Card Saturday games and preseason games in primetime. The NFL will continue to provide flexible game scheduling over the final seven weeks of the regular season to ensure quality matchups and games with playoff implications.

"Sunday Night Football" is preceded each week at 7 p.m. ET by "Football Night in America," which provides comprehensive highlights and analysis of the day's events in the NFL, along with a preview of that night's "Sunday Night Football" contest.

NBC & THE NFL: NBC's long history with the NFL dates back 70 years to 1939 when NBC became the first network to televise an NFL game Philadelphia Eagles vs. Brooklyn Dodgers from Ebbets Field to the approximately 1,000 sets then in New York. NBC first broadcast the NFL Championship Game in 1955. In 1964, NBC signed a five-year contract to televise the AFL. NBC was awarded the AFC package in 1970, an association that would continue through the 1997-98 season. NBC televised the first Super Bowl in 1967, the historic New York Jets' upset of the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III in 1969, and this past February broadcast Super Bowl XLIII, the most-watched program in television history.
