ROCK
STAR GAVIN ROSSDALE TO GUEST ON "CRIMINAL MINDS" THIS FALL
ON CBS
Los
Angeles, Ca., September 9th, 2009.
Rock star
Gavin Rossdale will guest star on an episode of CRIMINAL MINDS this
fall on the CBS Television Network.
Rossdale
will play a Goth rock star who has become lost in the frightening
alter-ego he portrays on stage - an alter-ego whom the BAU team
suspects may be a brutal serial killer.
Rossdale
was last seen in the independent feature film "How to Rob a
Bank." Previously, he appeared in the films
"Constantine," "Little Black Book" and "Game
of their Lives." Rossdale first attained worldwide fame as
the lead singer/songwriter for the UK post-grunge rock band Bush.
Their first album, "Sixteen Stone" (1994), was a huge
commercial success. Almost overnight, Bush went from playing
small pubs in London to headlining arenas in the US, the result of
extensive, non-stop touring. The band went on to produce three
more albums together. Rossdale was featured on the Sony Pictures
XXX soundtrack in 2002 with a song called "Adrenaline."
The song was also the official theme song for World Wrestling
Entertainment (WWE)'s "Unforgiven" pay-per-view event in
September 2002 and was used in the ending credits of "Terminator
3: Rise of the Machines." Additionally, he has just completed his
International Tour on his latest solo album, "Wunderlust."
Rossdale resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Gwen Stefani, and their
two sons.

PRODUCER ROBERT DE NIRO AND SINGER AND SONGWRITER BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN TO
RECEIVE HONORS DURING "THE 32ND ANNUAL KENNEDY CENTER
HONORS," TO BE BROADCAST DEC. 29 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK
Washington,
D.C., September 9th, 2009.
Writer,
composer, actor, director and producer Mel Brooks, pianist and
composer Dave Brubeck, opera singer Grace Bumbry, actor, director and
producer Robert De Niro and singer and songwriter Bruce Springsteen
will receive honors for the year 2009, on THE 32ND ANNUAL KENNEDY
CENTER HONORS, to be broadcast Tuesday, Dec. 29 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT)
on the CBS Television Network. This marks the 32nd year of the
special, which has been broadcast on CBS each year since its debut.
In
a star-studded celebration on the Kennedy Center Opera House stage,
the 2009 Honorees will be saluted by great performers from Hollywood
and the arts capitals of the world. Seated with President and
Mrs. Obama, the Honorees will accept the thanks of their peers and
fans through performances and heartfelt tributes.
"This
year, the Kennedy Center celebrates five extraordinary individuals
whose unique and abundant artistry has contributed significantly to
the cultural life of our nation and the world," said Kennedy
Center Chairman Stephen A. Schwarzman. "With his hilarious
movies and musicals, Mel Brooks has created comedic gems that will
keep us laughing for years to come. Dave Brubeck's genius has
dazzled us for six decades and has helped to define an American art
form. Grace Bumbry helped to break the color barrier on her way
to one of the most illustrious operatic careers in the 20th century.
One of America's greatest cinematic actors, Robert De Niro has
demonstrated a legendary commitment to his characters and has
co-founded one of the world's major film festivals. With his
gritty and honest songs that speak to the everyman, Bruce Springsteen
has always had his finger on the pulse of America."
The
President and Mrs. Obama will receive the Honorees and members of the
Artists Committee who nominate them and the Kennedy Center Board of
Trustees at the White House prior to the gala performance taping on
Dec. 6. The 2009 Kennedy Center Honors Gala concludes with a
dinner dance in the Grand Foyer. The Kennedy Center Honors will be
bestowed the night before the gala at a State Department dinner,
hosted by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The
Honors recipients, recognized for their lifetime contributions to
American culture through the performing arts-whether in dance, music,
theater, opera, motion pictures, or television-are selected by the
Center's Board of Trustees. The primary criterion in the selection
process is excellence. The Honors are not designated by art form or
category of artistic achievement; the selection process, over the
years, has produced balance among the various arts and artistic
disciplines.
Kennedy
Center President Michael M. Kaiser expressed the national cultural
center's continued gratitude to the many individuals involved in the
success of the Honors program. "In addition to recognizing
some of the world's most treasured artists, the Kennedy Center Honors
supports a wide variety of artistic programming, as well as the
Center's educational and national outreach efforts."
George
Stevens Jr., who created the Honors in 1978 with Nick Vanoff, will
produce and co-write the show for the 32nd year. The Kennedy
Center Honors telecast has been honored with five Emmys for
Outstanding Program and is nominated again this year. It has
also been recognized with the Peabody Award for Outstanding
Meritorious Service to Broadcasting and seven awards from the Writers
Guild of America.

CBS
AND COOKIE JAR ENTERTAINMENT PRESENT THE 2009-10 CHILDREN'S
PROGRAMMING SCHEDULE FOR "COOKIE JAR TV" PREMIERING
SATURDAY, SEPT. 19
Los
Angeles, Ca., September 3rd, 2009.
CBS and
Cookie Jar Entertainment present "Cookie Jar TV," the
2009-2010 children's program schedule, premiering Saturday, Sept. 19
on the CBS Television Network. The three-hour, E/I-compliant
programming block exclusive to broadcast television is comprised of
two new programs, which will each air multiple different episodes in
the block, and one returning favorite. "Busytown Mysteries"
and "Noonbory & the Super 7" will launch with original
episodes and "Sabrina: The Animated Series" will return with
episodes from a previous season.
The
following are the two new series:
BUSYTOWN
MYSTERIES (E/I,
3-7, TV-Y)
Inspired
by the beloved works of best-selling children's author Richard Scarry,
BUSYTOWN MYSTERIES brings the
popular adventures of Busytown to preschoolers with an educational,
problem-solving twist. Children can follow classic characters such as
Huckle, Sally, Lowly, Hilda, Pig Will and Pig Won't while they scour
around Busytown on fun-filled adventures looking for answers to life's
puzzles. They are always up for a new adventure and with everyone
driving their own unique vehicle, such as the iconic Apple Car and
Pickle Car, getting there is half the fun.
NOONBORY
& THE SUPER 7 (E/I,
3-6, TV-Y)
When
trouble is brewing or super silly villainy is taking place in the
whimsical world of Toobalooba, Noonbory and his sensational team of
super-sensing problem solvers save the day! Each superhero "bory
"has a super sense, including sight, sound, taste, touch, smell,
and of course a little common sense and nonsense never hurts! NOONBORY
& THE SUPER 7 helps kids
discover how their own special skills and talents can combine with
those of others to solve problems and brighten the day.
The
returning series:
SABRINA:
THE ANIMATED SERIES (E/I,
7-12, TV-Y7)
Sabrina
Spellman is a cute 12 year-old with a big heart and an even bigger
secret: she's half mortal and half witch! The only people who
know of her powers are her witch aunts, Hilda and Zelda, their lovable
mortal Uncle Quigley, her best friend, Chloe and her mischievous cat,
Salem, a Warlock who's been turned into a feline as punishment by the
Witches Council. Despite Uncle Quigley's warnings to not use magic to
solve problems, Sabrina often "borrows" spells from the
Spookie Jar and wreaks havoc with her friend Harvey. While her
lessons in how to be a good witch are demanding, they pale in
comparison to what she must learn to be a good person, and that human
attributes such as loyalty, honesty, tolerance and perseverance are
the true lessons to learn.
Following

NBC'S
'THE JAY LENO SHOW' INTRODUCES MORE OF ITS NEW COMEDY CORRESPONDENTS
Los Angeles, Ca., September 8th, 2009.
Host Jay Leno introduced today
more of the correspondents that will be helping to provide the laughs
in his new primetime comedy "The Jay Leno Show"
(Monday-Friday, 10-11 p.m. ET). "Tonight Show" alum Ross
Mathews returns to the job joined by comedians Liz Feldman, Brian
Unger, Nick Thune, Owen Benjamin, Marina Franklin and Sebastian
Maniscalco.
The troupe will join previously announced comedians D.L. Hughley,
Mikey Day, Rachael Harris, Jim Norton, Dan Finnerty and The Dan Band
as Leno's men and women on the street.
Feldman started performing stand-up comedy at 16, much to the dismay
of her parents, whom most of her jokes were about. At 18, she landed a
job as a writer/performer on Nickelodeon's "All That." She
has since contributed to NPR, Esquire and Los Angeles Magazine, and
she's been a commentator on VH1, Bravo and E!. Feldman has written for
"Blue Collar TV," "The 79th Annual Academy Awards"
and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," for which she won four Emmy
awards. Her signature awkward style can now be seen regularly on
funnyordie.com's "Shack Talk," the talk show she hosts from
a shack.
National Public Radio (NPR) listeners have heard Unger's commentary
regularly on "All Things Considered" and "Day to
Day." Once named one of Entertainment Weekly's "100 Most
Creative People in Entertainment" the comedian, writer and
producer was an original correspondent on "The Daily Show"
and now will provide regular pieces for "The Jay Leno Show."
Unger has also served as guest host on MSNBC'S "Countdown with
Keith Olbermann."
Thune performed his comedy on "The Tonight Show with Jay
Leno" and according to his website, "On both occasions, he
won." Nick also has a half hour special on comedy central and a
series online at nicksbigshow.com. Thune can be seen in the upcoming
Mike Judge movie "Extract" and the independent film
"Highway 61" opposite Tobin Bell. Thune's other film credits
include "Spring Breakdown," "Unaccompanied Minors"
and Judd Apatow's hit comedy "Knocked Up." In 2008, Thune
starred in his own "Comedy Central Presents" special. With
the success of the special Comedy Central paid Thune to make iThunes,
a series of short films for the World Wide Web. He also signed a deal
to do a comedy album with Comedy Central Records. The album is due to
drop in January.
Benjamin's feature credits include "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and
Larry" and "The House Bunny," and he soon can be seen
in the upcoming "All's Faire in Love" and "Born to Be a
Star." The musically inclined comedian has also appeared on MTV's
"Punk'd," "Chelsea Lately" and Comedy Central's
"Live at Gotham."
Comedian Franklin has appeared on NBC's "Last Comic
Standing," Oxygen's "Girls Behaving Badly," "Chappelle's
Show," Comedy Central's "Premium Blend" and
"Showtime at the Apollo." She is also a popular headliner at
comedy festivals around the world.
Well known for his outrageous facial expressions and hilarious insight
into daily human behavior, Sebastian Maniscalco is one of America's
most sought after comedians. He starred in "Vince Vaughn's Wild
West Comedy Show" and most recently his own one hour special for
Comedy Central. Sebastian has performed on "The Tonight Show with
Jay Leno," "Comics Unleashed," "Premium
Blend", and Showtime's "Comics without Borders" amongst
others. He performs all around North America, recently returned from a
USO Tour in Asia.
Mathews was a regular correspondent on "The Tonight Show with Jay
Leno." since 2001. Originally an intern with the show, Mathews
became an official correspondent and was sent on assignment covering
everything from the Academy Awards, the Winter Olympics, red carpet
premieres and high profile events. He also wrote a blog and hosted a
web show with John Melendez for NBC.com. Mathews also has appeared on
"Days of our Lives," "Battle of the NBC Stars,"
"The View," "Celebrity Fit Club", "The
Insider", "Chelsea Lately" and several other NBC shows.
"The Jay Leno Show" is the first network entertainment
program to be stripped across primetime, marking a new era in
television. The show will feature topical humor, newsmakers, celebrity
guests, correspondents and more comedy in the 10 o'clock hour,
including Headlines and Jaywalking.
