Welcome To TVVIEW.TV Daily Television E-Zine
(September
20th, 2007 - Editor) Welcome.
TVVIEW.TV
has been designed to be a modern version of the first, and I think
best, style of television magazine that was available in print in most
North American cities from the mid 1950's until the late 1990's. The
night's network television schedule, complete with descriptions for
each show, was provided along with serious and responsible reporting
about the events, shows and people in the world of network television.
The addition of cable and Satellite TV systems created an explosion of
new channels that made it impossible to provide balanced coverage.
That problem exists today in both the print and electronic
environments.
Our solution was to return to the basics. We examined the ratings and
discovered that although the television landscape is vast, the
audience, for the most part, is still looking at the offerings of the
major networks and they are still watching during primetime. Our
Electronic Magazine was designed to serve this audience. Instead of
the clutter of hundreds of channels, our daily home page contains the
information most television viewers want to see first. The primetime
schedule for the five major networks. We are considering adding the
full TV schedules for most cities, so I will be watching our reader
feedback area for comments and requests about we should add next.
Coverage for feature film and home video releases is also being
considered to make our site one stop shopping for all your
entertainment news and schedules.
I plan to use this Blog area to report on the news of network
television. The shows, the people, places and events that make up the
day to day running of the industry. From time to time I will also
comment on the headlines, so I will strive to maintain a clear
division between reporting and op/ed. Updates will be made at least every Thursday
and likely more often as events unfold.
Click on the photo of the mailbox marked E-Mail
Us, or this link, to make a comment about this publication, or
about any of the shows on the networks. Comments will be displayed in
the Reader Mail section either as a
general comment, or in the area set aside for that particular show.
Please keep your comments brief and suitable for a family audience.
Check out our extensive Fall Season Preview.
In it you will find a wide range of information about the new shows
and new stars you will be seeing on your television screen starting
this week. The new season is not as strong as others I have covered,
but there are a few gems in the pack and they might be worth a look.
Throughout the television season I will be adding to the already
extensive list of shows I have reviewed this season in the Editor's
Reviews area. I hope this will help to make informed decisions
about some of the new offerings on the dial this season and some of
the returning favorites.
