(September
27th, 2007 - Editor) The first week
of publishing has been filled with challenges as we try to overcome
the multitude of little technical challenges that need to be faced in
order to get a WEB site of this size up on a server and fully
operational. Thank you to those who have been patient during the first
few days when all of our reader feedback stuff was not functioning as
intended. I think we have things under control now and we can get on
with the business of covering the television season.
The are a few good show this fall, but for the most part, this season
is not impressing me very much. Everyone seems to have reacted to the
research and developed safe dramas that fall into the guidelines set
out by the ad agencies for a good show to reach their demographic. It
is too bad that in the process, a lot of the creative energy has been
drained from the line-up.
I was happy to see actress Lauren Graham, formerly of The Gilmore
Girls get signed to a development deal at ABC. Graham is a smart and
likeable person who could easily carry a drama series. I'm thinking
something in a romantic comedy would be the right way to go. I am
guessing she will have something ready for this time next year. If so,
the announcement should come at "Up Fronts" in May.
24 star Keifer Sutherland is the latest is a series of celebrities to
be charged with driving under the influence, after the actor failed a
roadside sobriety test this week. Really, when are these guys going to
learn. Arrange for a car service on the nights you will be out
drinking. Not only might it save your drivers license, it might save
your career.
