with each other, to championing interoffice dating based on DNA
matching to save money on health care, Veridian is a company that puts
its bottom line first and employees last. Ted's a single dad to a

'BREAKFAST
CLUB' ALUMNI ANTHONY MICHAEL HALL TO GUEST STAR ON HOLIDAY EPISODE OF
NBC'S COMEDY SERIES 'COMMUNITY'
Universal
City, Ca., November 2ns, 2009.
Anthony
Michael Hall, who rose to fame in the '80s as one of the members of
the infamous "brat pack," will guest star in the holiday
episode of NBC's comedy series "Community" airing Thursday,
December 10 (8-8:30p.m. ET). Hall will haunt the halls of Greendale
Community College as a campus bully who ultimately challenges Jeff
(Joel McHale) to a fight. "Community" is a smart comedy
series about a band of misfits who form a study group and like in the
classic film "Breakfast Club" end up learning a lot more
about themselves than they do about their course work.
Hall rose to fame in the 80's with breakthrough performances in John
Hughes' series of teenage angst films, he captured the shy, withdrawn,
and often overlooked pain that we've all gone through. As an adult,
his transitional film work and starring role in the successful TV
series, "The Dead Zone" showed us that drama is well within
his grasp as an actor. Most recently, his work on "The Dead
Zone" has allowed him to extend his talents into producing.

FOX
SAYS “YES WE CAN” TO “AMERICAN DAD”
Los
Angeles, Ca., October 30th, 2009.
FOX has
ordered a sixth season of AMERICAN DAD, the animated series featuring
security-obsessed CIA agent and devoted family man STAN SMITH (Seth
MacFarlane). Recently honored with an Emmy nomination for Outstanding
Animated Program, AMERICAN DAD airs Sundays (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) on
FOX.
The
series continues to follow the twisted trials and tribulations of
die-hard Republican and card-carrying NRA member Stan Smith and his
hilariously odd family in Langley Falls, VA. Stan’s not-so-smart
wife FRANCINE (Wendy Schaal) has an unfaltering loyalty that allows
her to turn a blind eye toward Stan’s unabashed arrogance. Stan
constantly butts heads with his 18-year-old daughter HAYLEY (Rachael
MacFarlane), who knows just how to push her father’s buttons by
being liberal in both her beliefs and in the number of hippie
boyfriends she chooses to date. Hayley’s 14-year-old brother is the
geeky yet cocky STEVE (Scott Grimes), a kid who seems to be on the
constant verge of puberty but can’t quite make sense of the opposite
sex. The Smith household is rounded out by two rather unconventional
members: ROGER (Seth MacFarlane), the selfish and sarcastic space
alien who lives in the attic and drinks like it’s always happy hour,
and KLAUS (Dee Bradley Baker), an attention-starved goldfish with the
brain of a German guy who is always willing to vocalize his opinions
even if no one is listening.

York, N.Y., October 30th,
2009.
"Saturday Night Live"
returns in November with three straight shows, beginning November 7
with Pop & Country superstar Taylor Swift taking the stage at
studio 8H as both host and musical guest.
In 2008, Swift sold more albums than any other recording artist in all
genres of music and her singles top both the Pop and Country radio
charts. Her sophomore release, "Fearless," was voted 2009's
Album of the Year by the Academy of Country Music and has spent more
weeks in the #1 position atop Billboard's Top 200 all-genre CD sales
chart than any other album this decade. She's had gold and platinum
albums in sixteen countries, and her career record sales now top 10
million albums worldwide.
Making her SNL debut, January Jones will host November 14. Jones
currently stars in AMC's critically acclaimed Emmy, Golden Globe and
SAG Award-winning series, "Mad Men." Her performance has
earned her a 2009 Golden Globe nomination for "Best Performance
by an Actress in a Television Series - Drama." Jones is set to
begin production on two back to back features first starring with
Nicolas Cage in "Hungry Rabbit Jumps" and then with Liam
Neeson in "Unknown White Male." Jones stars opposite Phillip
Seymour Hoffman and Kenneth Branagh in the film "Pirate
Radio," opening November 6.
Three-time Grammy award-winning recording artists, The Black Eyed
Peas, will be making their second appearance on SNL. Their most recent
album, "The E.N.D.," helped The Black Eyed Peas make music
history, with the longest successive stay at the top of the Billboard
Hot 100 chart with 26 consecutive weeks at #1. The single 'I Gotta
Feeling' took the top slot for 14 weeks, while 'Boom Boom Pow' spent
12 weeks at #1. This is the longest consecutive stay for an artist in
the Billboard chart's 51-year history.
Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt hosts SNL for the first time November 21.
He recently received rave reviews for his performance in the
critically acclaimed film, "(500) Days of Summer," as well
as for his directorial debut with the short film, "Sparks."
Gordon-Levitt is currently working on Christopher Nolan's
"Inception" opposite Leonardo DiCaprio and will next be seen
starring opposite Lynn Collins in "Uncertainty" and opposite
Natalie Portman and Rainn Wilson in "Hesher."
For the first time in almost a decade, the Dave Matthews Band will be
taking the SNL stage. DMB recently completed a sold-out U.S.
five-month tour. In the summer of 2009, the band released their first
studio album in four years, "Big Whiskey and the Groogrux
King," which debuted at # 1 on Billboard and went Platinum
shortly thereafter - tying DMB as one of the only two musical groups
to release five consecutive studio albums at #1.

Director. The announcements were made by Angela Bromstad, President,
Primetime Entertainment, NBC and Universal Media Studios.
Named as Best Film was "Thank You for Washing," from Camille
Brown as Brown received a pilot script deal with Universal Media
Studios. In addition, Brown earned a finalist position in the NBC
Directors Fellowship Program for 2010. Mary Theresa Archbold also was
honored for her performance in the independent film "Jazz
Hand," and as a result, earned a one-year talent holding deal
with NBC.
Likewise, Dempsey Tillman was chosen as Best Director for directing

Scenes" Award for "Collector" and earned a special
international directing assignment from the Syfy Channel.
"We always look forward to the 'Short Cuts' Film Festival that
provides a prominent showcase and reward for so many talented film
artists," said Bromstad. "It's refreshing to see the
wonderful diversity of ideas and NBC Universal is proud to share in
the encouraging results."
"This annual event is really coming into its own as a viable
platform for so many promising filmmakers to gain notoriety for their
outstanding work from powerful industry leaders," said Paula
Madison, Executive Vice President of Diversity, NBC Universal.
"The expanding program reflects NBC Universal's ongoing
commitment to promote more diversity and opportunities that will
result in tremendous creative gains in years to come."
This year's finalist filmmakers convened at the Directors Guild of
America in Los Angeles on October 22.
Dwayne Perkins, correspondent for NBC's "The Jay Leno Show,"
hosted the exclusive screening of the top-six "Short Cuts"
finalist films featuring a diverse production team, cast or theme.
"Short Cuts" is a company-wide initiative and is one of many
live events produced by NBC's Talent Diversity Division with the goal
of cultivating diversity both in front of and behind the camera. This
year's panel of judges includes Jeff Ingold (NBC), Charlie Andrews
(Universal Media Studios), Quan Phung (Stuber Productions), Karen
O'Hara (Syfy) and Karen Horne (NBC).
Selected from over 1,400 submissions, this year's finalists also
included: Lin Oeding ("Interpretation"); Hector Montano
Jaramillo ("Tiene Usted Una Pluma?") and Sebastián Davis
("Magellan"). Semi-final films were screened earlier before
an industry audience in conjunction with the New York Television
Festival in September 2009.
Corporate support of this year's initiative came from sponsors such as
the Hollywood Reporter, Sheraton Universal Hotel, Nuvo Sparkling
Liqueur and The Giantto Group.
NBC Universal's "Short Cuts" Film Festival was founded with
actor/writer/comedian Wil Sylvince in 2005 to display and celebrate
diversity in the entertainment industry. The objective is to allow
creative individuals from every community the opportunity to present
their material in front of key decision makers in the industry. When
Sylvince is not working on the "Short Cuts" Film Festival,
he performs on the national comedy circuit, on college campuses and in
festivals worldwide.
In 2008, "Strange Faculty," by creator/producers Marty
Johnson, Will Luera and Mark Odlum, shared Best Film honors with
writer/director Rafael Del Toro's "6ft. in 7min."
"Strange Faculty" follows three deeply flawed teachers who
receive superpowers when they're struck by lightning during a carpool.
"6ft. in 7min" is a dark comedy about an East Indian man
who, thanks to his parents' traditional ways, has never had a normal
childhood. Del Toro was also honored as Best Director, while Jose
Compre was feted as Best Actor for his performance in another finalist
film "Little Bones."
