GORDON RAMSAY TO STAR IN CULINARY COMPETITION “MASTERCHEF” ON FOX

Los Angeles, Ca., November 4th, 2009.               Famed chef Gordon Ramsay is bringing Masterchef (working title), a new culinary competition series based on the smash hit U.K. and Australian format, to FOX. Masterchef will take wannabe chefs who simply cook as a hobby and have absolutely no experience in the food industry and attempt to turn one of them into a MasterChef.

Contestants on Masterchef will be put through the paces with various challenges as they compete head-to-head to create delicious dishes. The series will serve as a unique platform for people from all walks of life who want to follow their dream of working as a professional chef. These everyday at-home cooks will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to show their passion and excitement for food as they are put to the test and judged by world-renowned chefs.

“Gordon Ramsay is the biggest cooking star on television today and one of the most dynamic personalities on FOX, so we jumped at the opportunity to work with him to bring Masterchef to the U.S.,” said Mike Darnell, President of Alternative Entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company. “Masterchef searches for people who possess that perfect blend of creativity, innovation and passion for creating great dishes – rather than focusing on running a kitchen – that earns them the title of MasterChef.”

“Masterchef has already become a cultural phenomenon in the U.K. and Australia, breaking ratings records in two of the world’s biggest markets,” said Mark Koops and Howard T. Owens, Managing Directors of Reveille. “We’re excited to work with FOX to replicate that success while bringing a fresh, new U.S. spin to this proven format.”

“We’re excited to work with FOX and Reveille to make Masterchef a huge hit,” said Pat Llewellyn, Vice President of One Potato Two Potato. “With GORDON RAMSAY: COOKALONG LIVE and now Masterchef, One Potato Two Potato is proud to be bringing the biggest food shows on the planet to FOX.”

Chef Ramsay will challenge and coach the amateurs all the way to the finish line. However, known for his explosive outbursts, he won’t be afraid to tell the chefs the cold, hard truth about their cooking along the way.

Masterchef is produced by Reveille, Shine TV and One Potato Two Potato. Shine International handles international distribution for the Masterchef format.

NBC'S UNWRAPS A BUNDLE OF HOLIDAY-THEMED SERIES AND SPECIALS

Universal City, Ca., November 11th, 2009.               NBC gives the gift of holiday-themed series episodes and specials throughout late November and December with a multitude of festivities, a special military audience for "The Jay Leno Show" airing Thanksgiving evening and a night of holiday-themed Thursday night comedies from "Community," "Parks and Recreation," "The Office" and "30 Rock" on December 10.

In addition, NBC premieres "The Sing-Off" as a four-night holiday event series beginning Monday, December 14 featuring the hottest a cappella singing groups from across America competing for the chance at an Epic Records/Sony Entertainment recording contract. So it falls to Alex (Ben Stiller), Marty (Chris Rock), Melman (David Schwimmer), and Gloria (Jada Pinkett Smith) along with the ever-inventive Penguins to deliver the presents and save Christmas. And, it doesn't hurt that Santa's sleigh just might be able to make a little trip to New York City so they can finally return to their beloved home. But, during their rounds, the four re-discover the magic of giving and that it's ultimately more important than their own wish to return home. Throw in a long-lasting North Pole/South Pole rivalry between the Penguins and Santa's Reindeer, magic flying dust and a King Julien-based holiday called (what else?) 'Julianuary' and "Merry Madagascar" serves up a comedic holiday story like no other! Andy Richter and "Cedric the Entertainer" also star.

ABC AIRS BEYONCÉ AND PAUL MCCARTNEY SPECIALS ON THANKSGIVING

Los Angeles, Ca., November 11th, 2009.               On Thanksgiving night, November 26, the ABC Network will air back-to-back hours from two of the world's biggest music stars, Beyoncé and Paul McCartney. Both specials will incorporate rarely seen footage of Beyoncé and Paul McCartney, revealing interviews from the artists and their unique musical performances.

"Beyoncé: I am...Yours," at 9:00 p.m., ET
In Beyoncé's first network special with ABC, viewers get a front row seat to an intimate performance from the iconic artist. The hour-long special captures the superstar's appearance at the Encore Theater in Wynn, Las Vegas this past summer, where she tells the story of her career through music and dance. Woven throughout the special are backstage moments, footage of her off stage life, and rare childhood video. Additionally, viewers will get to know her famously all-female band -- drums, keys, bass, guitar, horns and percussion players. Beyoncé shares how she transformed herself from a talented nine-year-old into one of the world's most powerful musical forces - and what she thinks of it all.

"Paul McCartney: Good Evening New York City," at 10:00 p.m., ET
Forty-four years ago, four kids from Liverpool performed what was then the largest, highest grossing rock concert ever - the Beatles Live at Shea Stadium. In the summer of 2009, Paul McCartney did it again, performing at Shea's former site, New York's Citi Field in Queens, NY. ABC will bring viewers this dazzling concert in which he performs Beatles, Wings and solo classics. Culled from nearly three hours of music and video, the program is an emotional journey through his legendary 50-year musical career and includes footage of the original Beatles concert at Shea. McCartney also talks candidly about those early days and what it was like to return to a place where he performed at the height of Beatlemania.

•·        Charles and Carole Franti had three biological children when they adopted a little boy named Michael in 1966.  Three years later, the couple adopted another son, Matthew.  Their hopes and dreams for their new sons were simple.  Like most parents, the Frantis wanted their children to be healthy, happy, and loved.  Raising a multicultural family, the Frantis taught all their children that love knows no boundaries.  Michael soon proved to be a gifted musician, which gave him a way to share his parents' message on a grand scale.  By his mid-20s, he had a record deal and was reaching audiences nationwide as the opening act for U2's Zoo TV Tour.  "Being adopted has greatly influenced the work that I do as a musician. As someone who has dedicated my life to making music that heals, I have found that making music isn't just a pleasure, it's a privilege."

Children Waiting (Los Angeles and San Diego)

•·        There are over one half million children currently in foster care in the United States, 129,000 waiting to be adopted. This segment gives voice to these children by creating an intimate portrait of youth who need permanent loving homes.

ABC ANNOUNCES NEW "BACHELOR" PREMIERE

New York, N.Y., November 4th, 2009.               For the First Time Ever “The Bachelor” Will Be Broadcast in High Definition Jake Pavelka is out to prove that nice guys don’t always finish last in love. The handsome commercial pilot from Dallas—and America’s most hopeful romantic—begins his own bid for true love, choosing from among 25 bachelorettes, when “The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love” premieres MONDAY, JANUARY 4, 2010 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. This will be the 14th edition of ABC’s hit romance reality series and, for the first time in the history of the series, “The Bachelor” will be broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC’s selected HDTV format, with stereo sound.

Ever since Jake, 31, shared a magical one-on-one date with Bachelorette Jillian Harris to see Martina McBride, millions of women have had their “Top Gun” fantasies about him. A fan favorite for his reputation as an honest guy with an open heart – not to mention his good looks -- viewers were stunned when Jillian rejected Jake right before the hometown dates on last season’s “The Bachelorette.” But women were drawn to him even more when Jake returned of his own accord in the next episode to protect Jillian from men who were not there for the right reasons. Jake – who already knew Jillian would not take him back -- freely shared and showed his emotions.

Jake’s fairytale-like experience falling for Jillian made him confident that he can find the love of his life on “The Bachelor.” Now it’s his time. Jake knows himself well enough to know that he’s not made to live alone. He just needs to find the right woman -- his best friend and soul mate – and that’s whom he’ll marry. Searching for a woman who is intelligent, confident, energetic and spontaneous, he admits that he can’t wait for fatherhood.

Fortunate to discover his passion at a young age, Jake started taking flying lessons at age 12. An accomplished pilot, he became an airline captain flight instructor at 23. On his days off, he has fun flying acrobatic planes, taking dance lessons and woodworking at the home he owns near Dallas. His parents have had a long and happy marriage, and it seems to run in the family, as Jake also has two happily married brothers – older brother Jason and younger brother Matt – and two nieces.

Jake grew up in Denton, Texas and attended University of North Texas and Embry Engineering University for Aerospace Science.

"THE NATIONAL DOG SHOW " ON THANKSGIVING DAY, NOVEMBER 26, ON NBC

Uinversal City, Ca., November 4th, 2009.               NBC continues its Thanksgiving Day celebration with "The National Dog Show Presented by Purina" on Thursday, November 26 (Noon - 2 p.m. in all time zones), airing immediately following the telecast of NBC's "Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade." Making their national television and major competition debuts are three new American Kennel Club-recognized breeds -- the Irish Red and White Setter, the Norwegian Buhund and the Pyrenean Shepherd. America's #1-ranked show dog, a Scottish Terrier named Sadie, is also entered in the competition.

Some 2,000 aspiring purebreds vie for the coveted "Best in Show" title on NBC's eighth broadcast of one of America's most prestigious dog shows. NBC research estimated that 19.6 million viewers watched the 2008 "National Dog Show Presented by Purina," the biggest total audience for the "National Dog Show" since 2003. Held at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center and hosted by dog lover John O'Hurley (NBC's "Seinfeld") and David Frei, the "dean of dog show commentators," "The National Dog Show Presented by Purina" is one of America's five remaining "benched" shows, at which the public can interact with approximately 150 breeds and varieties of dogs - from Afghan Hounds to Colored Bull Terriers and Doberman Pinschers to Beagles and St. Bernards - and talk to experts throughout the day.

The two-hour special celebrates the wonders of man's best friend through the voices of O'Hurley, on the whimsy of canines, and Frei, America's foremost authority on purebreds. This year the show will also include a therapy dog theme with 2005 National Dog Show champion "Rufus" scheduled to be part of the telecast. Rufus, a Colored Bull Terrier, is the only dog to win both the National Dog Show and the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show (2006).

An award-winning actor and a New York Times best-selling author, O'Hurley returns for his eighth year as host of this annual classic. O'Hurley's hosting partner and expert analyst Frei is an American Kennel Club - licensed judge who has officiated at dog shows worldwide. Frei is on-air host of USA Network's famed "Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show" and is one of America's foremost authorities on purebreds and the dog show world.

The elite canines must prevail though several levels of competition before boasting the "Best in Show" title. The entrants are first judged against their own breed, and then are classified by seven different groups: Sporting, Hound, Working, Terrier, Toy, Non-Sporting and Herding. The winner from each group is then brought into the ring to compete for the coveted title of "Best in Show."

QUOTABLES FROM "SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE'S WEEKEND UPDATE WITH SETH MEYERS" NOVEMBER 7, 2009.

"WEEKEND UPDATE" ANCHOR SETH MEYERS - "This week, in a positive sign that the economy may be recovering, New Yorkers started buying big ticket items again. Like elections and championships."

MEYERS - "The New York Yankees won their 27th World Series title Wednesday with a 7-3 Game 6 victory over the Amish. It must have been a long horse and buggy ride back to Philly."

MEYERS - "After the American Medical Association endorsed the Democrats Health Care Reform bill Thursday, President Obama said, "We are closer than ever before." Which is kinda like your dad saying you're almost at Disneyland while he's still pulling out of the driveway."

MEYERS - "And in breaking news… the house passed the Health Care Reform Bill at 11:07 this evening by a vote of 220-215. Nancy Pelosi was said to be so emotional she was on the verge of blinking."

MEYERS - "The Democrats' efforts to pass their Health Care Reform Bill was helped earlier in the week when the senior citizens lobby group AARP endorsed the Democrats version in the House. Though to be fair they thought they were signing up for water aerobics."

MEYERS - "To protest this weekend's vote in the House on the Health Care Reform Bill, a massive "tea party" protest rally was held Thursday outside the Capitol featuring celebrities such as Jon Voight and John Ratzenberger. So I guess Republicans only complain about actors talking politics when they're good actors."

MEYERS - "With its defeat in Maine on Tuesday, referendums to legalize gay marriage have lost in all 31 states in which it has been put to a popular vote. Though to be fair, I'm pretty sure straight marriage would also lose in a popular vote."

MEYERS - "On Wednesday, Glenn Beck was forced to leave his radio show after he suffered an appendicitis attack on air. Man, that's rough. First his sponsors abandoned him and now his organs want out."

MEYERS - "The 20 story tall Oasis of the Seas, the world's largest cruise ship, began her maiden voyage this week. Five times larger than the titanic, it has seven "neighborhoods", an ice rink, a golf course a 750-seat outdoor amphitheater. And please say "Guns to fight off pirates? No? No guns to fight off pirates? Enjoy your new boat pirates."

MEYERS - "Russia has launched a nationwide campaign to curb excessive drinking which has plagued the country. First step: move the legal drinking age up from zero."

MEYERS - "A new iPhone application was launched Wednesday that claims to be able to translate an infant's cry so parents can determine what their child wants. Though I think what they generally want is for you to put down your iPhone."

MEYERS - "The number one movie at the box office this past weekend was the Michael Jackson concert documentary "This is It," which made 21 million dollars. Or as Jackson would have thought of it, unicorn money."

MEYERS - "A woman from England revealed this week on the Tyra Banks show that she has two vaginas, two uteruses and two menstrual cycles. So stay away from her when she has PPMMSS. And I really want to believe this lady, but I think there are a lot of holes in her story."

QUOTABLES FROM "LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON" November 2 - November 6

"Did everyone here have a good Halloween? I just love Halloween. It's the only time of the year you get to see a Ghost-buster making out with Sarah Palin."

"Halloween was crazy here in New York. In the Village, I saw a guy with a pink Mohawk and platform shoes wearing a Scottish kilt-and he was just there to PICK UP his costume."

"Even the Obamas got into the Halloween spirit - they handed out "dried fruit" to 2,000 trick-or-treaters. And just like that, he created 2,000 more Republicans."

"The NY City Marathon was yesterday and an American man won for the first time since 1982. Meanwhile, a Kenyan man won an eating contest. (Weird day)"

"Yeah, the American who won the marathon was named Meb Keflezighi (Kef-La-Ziggy). Yeah, Keflezighi has already gotten an endorsement deal from Scrabble. (Yep - good old Meb. Meb Kef-La-Ziggy. So American.)"

"The White House predicted there'd be 120 million doses of swine flu vaccines available by today - but right now, there are only 26 million. Yeah, they overshot by so much, they're all getting jobs as pilots for Northwest Airlines."

"The Pentagon announced that it is giving the swine flu vaccines to every detainee at Guantanamo Bay. The detainees were like, "Hey, whatever happened to closing this place?" (Not that I don't appreciate the vaccine…)"

"Big international news. Abdullah Abdullah just quit next week's runoff election against Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai. Abdullah Abdullah said he was just following in the footsteps of his role model, "Palin Palin.""

"It was a big weekend for sports fans yesterday, for the first time all year, all 4 major sports were played. It was also made it the best day of the year for women to tell their husband's really bad news. "I crashed the car." (not paying attention) "That's nice." "I slept with your best friend." "Uh huh." "I used to be a dude." "Have fun.""

"Four teenagers in Utah were cited for disorderly conduct after they "rapped" their order at a McDonald's drive-through. They were only cited because they started their rap with, "My name is Kevin and I'm here to say..." (Ahh… rapping in Utah)"

"It's Election Day… and I voted here in New York this morning. It's not like the last election I voted in, you don't text in your vote. You have to go wait in line. There's a machine that the word 'Lambert' isn't anywhere-it was just awful. I thought this was nice - everybody who voted got an "I Voted" swine flu mask."

"Things are looking good for New York city mayor Michael Bloomberg it looks like he's going to win a third term. Of course he spent the most money in New York electoral history, just barely exceeding the New York Yankees salary cap."

"Are you watching the series? Tough loss for the Yankees last night but history was made when the Phillies' Chase Utley tied the all-time record for home runs in a World Series--he's hit five. The Yankees were like, "That guy's great! I can't wait until we buy him!"

"I just read this - in his first year in office - President Obama has traveled to 16 foreign countries - more than any other President in history. Bush only traveled to 11-but most of those were just different parts of the "It's a Small World" ride. He counted those. When he's getting on the ride...(Bush) "Here's my passport." (operator) "You don't need it. It's just a ride, sir.."

"A British musician has completed a new George Harrison song after coming across a scrap piece of paper with notes written by the former Beatle. Pretty cool. Yeah, the song is called, "Shopping List."

"Doug Barron just became the very first professional golfer to be suspended for taking performance enhancing drugs. Officials became suspicious when he hit six home runs and a triple on the back nine."

"A new study found that experiencing "bad moods" can actually boost your memory. Which explains why when your wife gets mad - she suddenly remembers EVERYTHING YOU'VE EVER DONE, EVER. "Oh, really, you didn't mean to? Isn't that what you said when you left the wet laundry in the washer in 1998?"

"Researchers in England found that just a half-hour of light exercise three times a week can reduce the risk of heart attack by 60 percent. And Americans were like, "Umm, we'll take our chances."

"And finally "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert and his longtime interior designer boyfriend broke up last week. Yeah it's over. They've cited irreconcilable eyeliner."

"Well folks - big news: Mayor Bloomberg won a 3rd term as mayor of New York City last night. I was there. It was incredible. As soon as he came out the crowd started chanting "12 more years! 12 more years!"
