(November 15th, 2007 - Editor)          Television pioneer Dick Clark will return to ABC Television on Monday, December 31st, along with co-host Ryan Seacrest, for the three part special "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2008". The annual classic will air live from Times Square in New York and will include segments from Hollywood. Part one, airing from 10 pm to 11 pm Eastern time, will include performances from both coasts along with special reports from Marysol Castro, "Good Morning America Weekend's" weather and features correspondent, who will report on other happenings in and around New York City.

          After a break for local news, Clark and Seacrest return to introduce guest performers to the stages in New York and Los Angeles until the traditional Times Square countdown to midnight and then continue with more musical performances from both stages until 2:05 am Eastern time. The special has been designed to be time zone adjusted and replayed later on the West coast.

          The FOX Network has announced the return date for the next version of American Idol. The popular talent search show will introduce a new line-up of contestants during a two day, four hour, opening special airing for two hours each night on Tuesday, January 15th and Wednesday, January 16th.

          The network has also announced a delay in the premiere of the one hour action drama series "24" due to the writer's strike. Reportedly not all of the scripts were complete for "Day 7" of the series when talks between the Writer's Guild Of America and Association Of Motion Picture & Television Producers broke off and job action began. On a more hopeful note, FOX remains optimistic about the 2007-08 television season with the release of premiere dates for several new series. The first mid-season replacement will arrive on Wednesday, January 23rd with the debut of "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles", the offbeat crime drama "New Amsterdam" will follow on February 22nd. "Unhitched" will join the line-up on Sunday, March 2nd and "When Women Rule The World" debuts on Monday, March 3rd. The quirky drama "The Return Of Jezebel James" arrives on Friday, March 7th and cooking series "Hell's Kitchen" debuts Tuesday, April 1st. The passionate legal series "Canterbury's Law" will be the last to arrive on Friday, April 11th.

          Also a hopeful sign is the announcement by the network of the return of "Prison Break" to Mondays starting January 14th.

          In other housekeeping news, "Bones" moves to Friday starting January 4th, "'till Death" moves to Fridays starting March 7th and "Back To You" moves to 9:30 on Wednesdays starting March 12th.

          Fans of the ABC daytime talk show "The View" are celebrating the arrival of a new baby boy for co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck and her husband, N.F.L. Quarterback Tim Hasselbeck. The couple welcomed their second child into the world on Friday, November 9th at 7:56 am Mountain Time, in a local Arizona hospital. The baby weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces at birth. Both mother and son are happy and health. Hasselbeck (30) has not yet announced when she will return to "The View".

          NBC is rolling out a couple of traditional specials and adding to them with new efforts for the holiday season. First among a list of special announced by the network on November 14th, is The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The traditional special will air for three hours on the morning of Thursday, November 22nd. The telecast marks the 81st consecutive year the parade has aired on NBC. "Today Show" hosts Meredith Vieira, Matt Lauer and Al Roker will describe the sights and sounds of the day in what has come to be known as "America's Parade". This year's special guests include Ashley Tisdale, Bindi and Terri Irwin, Corbin Bleu, Dolly Parton, Good Charlotte, Grandma from the Big Apple Circus, Jonas Brothers, Jordin Sparks, Kay Hanley, Lifehouse, Menudo, Michael Feinstein, Miss U.S.A. 2007 - Rachel Smith, Ne-Yo, Nikki Blonsky, Sarah Brightman, and Wynonna Judd, plus an appearance by Santa Claus.

          Also on Thanksgiving Day, look for "The National Dog Show, hosted by Purina" airing for two hours from noon to 2 pm Easten time. Actor, TV Host and dog lover John O'Hurley presides over a purebred canine competition that is part of the Kennel Club of Philadelphia's annual dog show, one of the oldest and most prestigious events of its kind in North America. The show is expected to feature more than 2,000 of the nation's leading canines in a wide array of more than 150 breeds and varieties, all vying for "Best in Show" honors.

          The annual special "Christmas In Rockefeller Center" will air at 8 pm Eastern time for one hour on Wednesday, November 28th. A dazzling display of musical talent will be featured during the one hour special and the highlight of the night will be the lighting of the world's most famous Christmas tree. Hosted by Al Roker ("Today"), the 75th annual tree lighting special will feature Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Barry Manilow, Taylor Swift, Ashley Tisdale and Carrie Underwood performing current hits and holiday classics from Rockefeller Center in New York City.

          "The Radio City Christmas Spectacular" will, for the first time ever, televise the 75th celebration of the annual holiday Spectacular in a one-hour exclusive special from Radio City Music Hall airing at 8 pm Eastern time on Saturday, December 1st. Hosted by Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira ("Today"), the show will feature brand new glamorous costumes, state-of-the-art special effects and new eye-popping numbers performed by the world-famous Radio City Rockettes, as well as traditional favorites including the famed "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers.".

          New this year for the holidays is the reality game "Clash of the Choirs", airing December 17, 18, 19 and 20, at 8 pm Eastern time. The series has enlisted celebrities Michael Bolton, Patti LaBelle, Nick Lachey, Kelly Rowland and Blake Shelton to embark on a musical challenge as they return to their hometowns to assemble an amateur choir and prepare them to compete live in studio for the title of America's best choir. The show will feature music genres ranging from current pop hits to holiday classics and the choir hopefuls will be judged each night by viewers watching at home.
