“24: REDEMPTION – CAPTURED IN AFRICA”, A  COLLECTION OF PHOTOGRAPHS BY MAKERS OF “24” TO DEBUT AT THE PALEY CENTER FOR MEDIA IN LOS ANGELES

Los Angeles, Ca., October 17th, 2008.          Last spring, FOX announced that after a nearly two-year hiatus, 24 would return to the airwaves with 24: REDEMPTION, an unprecedented two-hour television event shot on location in South Africa and Los Angeles. Now as the producers ready this epic tale for broadcast, they are unveiling a never-before-seen collection of stunning photographs shot by five members of the show’s creative team during the overseas filming. “24: REDEMPTION – Captured in Africa” is a rare inside look at the making of the show composed of candid moments between cast and crew, including Emmy Award-winner Kiefer Sutherland; dramatic stills from the spectacular action sequences; and vivid photographic captures of the scenic South African locations. The Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles will host the one-of-a-kind photo exhibit of fine art museum quality archival prints from Nov. 10, 2008 through Jan. 11, 2009, when it may move on to additional venues to be announced later.

Curated by Entertainment Weekly deputy photo director Michael Kochman and custom printed at DigitalFusion’s fine art printing facility, the exhibit features works by executive producer/director Jon Cassar, director of photography Rodney Charters, producer Michael Klick, unit photographer Kelsey McNeal and star/executive producer Kiefer Sutherland.

“I was so impressed with the quality of the photography, and it was exciting to see a production photographed from five different perspectives,” said Kochman. “Each photographer captured something very special and poetic – sometimes intimate, sometimes epic, sometimes documentary-like and raw. It all adds up to a fascinating photographic experience.”

“Shooting 24: REDEMPTION in South Africa was the highlight of my six years on the show,” said 24 executive producer and Emmy Award-winning director Jon Cassar. “It was nothing short of exhilarating. Africa also became a wonderful canvas for the still photography enthusiasts among our crew. Every day put us in places and situations that were new and exciting to us, and our cameras clicked constantly. This exhibit chronicles the seven weeks that were spent in Cape Town and the surrounding regions from moments captured during a hectic shooting schedule to the faces and places that represent not only the making of 24 but the Africa of today.”

“We are so excited to be the first to host this extraordinary photo exhibit from one of today’s most popular television shows, 24, which offers another unique way to connect the creative community with media enthusiasts here at the Paley Center,” said Barbara Dixon, vice president and director of The Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles. “This exhibit is going to have enormous appeal to everyone from the most serious photography aficionado to the most passionate 24 fan. And what better place to showcase exclusive behind-the-scenes content from such a genre-defining television show than in our gallery at the Paley Center?”

A private opening for press and invited guests, sponsored by DigitalFusion and Photobucket, kicks off the exhibit’s run on Monday, Nov. 10 at 7:00 PM at The Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles. 24: REDEMPTION cast and crew members, including star Kiefer Sutherland, are scheduled to appear in addition to the exhibit photographers. Beginning that night, visitors to photobucket.com can view exclusive highlights of the exhibit as well as additional photographs. They will also be able to access a 24: REDEMPTION-themed background to customize their Photobucket albums.

“24: REDEMPTION – Captured in Africa” opens to the general public Wednesday, Nov. 12 and runs through Jan. 11, 2009, and is included in the free admission to the Paley Center. The Paley Center for Media, located at 465 North Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills, is open 12:00-5:00 PM Wednesdays through Sundays. The center is closed on New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Admission and parking are free.

On Sunday, Nov. 23 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), FOX will broadcast the two-hour television event 24: REDEMPTION, and on Tuesday, Nov. 25, Fox Home Entertainment will release the 24: REDEMPTION DVD. The special edition DVD includes an exclusive director’s cut featuring over ten minutes of never-before-seen footage not shown in the television broadcast, as well as additional bonus features including commentary, a behind-the-scenes on-location documentary and an exclusive sneak peek at Season Seven including the first 16 minutes of the premiere episode. Celebrating its 150th episode this year, 24 returns this January for its seventh season Mondays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

INTRODUCING THE WORLD'S FIRST SUPER-MANNY... MIKE RUGGLES FROM CHICAGO HELPS THE MARKO FAMILY OF CALIFORNIA, ON "SUPER-MANNY," FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14 ON ABC

New York, N.Y., October 15th, 2008.                On FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET), America will meet Mike Ruggles, the world's first Super-Manny, in a one-hour special aptly-titled "Super-Manny" on the ABC Television Network. Mike is warm Chicagoan with over 16 years' experience as a teacher and developmental therapist for children. With an M.A. in psychology from California State University, Northridge, he has always loved helping kids, even when he was a youngster himself. When he was in sixth grade, he volunteered to work in the special education class at his elementary school and was hooked. Now Mike can share his ideas, techniques and enthusiasm for helping parents relate to their kids with millions of viewers.

Mike shares a number of approaches with "Supernanny", an emphasis on structure, boundaries, consequences, consistency, time-outs and positive reinforcement, but he's got his own inimitable style. Rather than have an observation period, he kicks the parents out of the house and gives the kids a voice by using role-playing techniques to determine some of the root problems, as the parents watch from a monitor. In the case of the Marko family of Temecula, California, parents Doug and Tracy have their hands full with three young daughters, Gwen, 7, Alexa, 4 and Jacinda, 8 months. Gwen seems to be the instigator of trouble-she treats her parents disrespectfully, yelling "Leave me alone, woman!" to her mother, and homework time can run over two hours with her antics. With Alexa now learning from Gwen, an overwhelmed Doug and Tracy are at their wits' end. The house is, sadly, filled with anger and chaos, but Super-Manny is here to give the Markos a call to action.

Mike quickly discovers that Gwen feels very negatively about her relationship with her Dad, who often resorts to smacking and spanking the children, which Mike doesn't approve of. He introduces some key tips for diverting Gwen's anger, such as the "Whack-a-Pillow" technique, as well as for minimizing Doug's own temper, as he vividly demonstrates the domino effect when Doug cannot maintain his cool. Mike shows the Markos how to ease homework heartache by calming the environment around Gwen and changing the way they interact with her when her frustration rises.

When Mike sends Tracy out of the house and puts Doug in charge all day long, Gwen freaks out. But Super-Manny is prepared. His technique involves coaching Doug through some of the toughest challenges via an earpiece dubbed "Mini-Mike," while Mike watches their interactions on a monitor in another room. He can literally adapt his advice moment-by-moment to suit the family's needs. Later in the episode he also uses a play-by-play demo to show the parents where their parenting skills are succeeding and where they need bolstering.

THIS JUST IN... from CBS Entertainment... GRAMMY AWARD-WINNING ROCK BAND LINKIN PARK TEAMS UP WITH "CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION"

New York, N.Y., October 21st, 2008.                Grammy Award-winning rock band Linkin Park's new hit single, "Leave Out All The Rest," will be prominently featured in the episode of CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION airing on Thursday, Nov. 6 (9:00-10:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.  This is the first time a television series has taken the melody of a rock song and incorporated it into the underlying score of an episode in such a unique fashion.

The episode opens and closes with, and is named after, "Leave Out All The Rest," the fifth single from Linkin Park's latest album, Minutes to Midnight, currently approaching six million worldwide sales.  Elements of "Leave Out All The Rest" are also used throughout the episode to underline and score the building story of Gil Grissom (William Petersen) and his unresolved love for Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox), who recently left the crime lab.

"We found the melody and lyrics of the song to work so well with our story, that we underscored Grissom's emotional journey with it," says Jason Alexander, music supervisor for CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION.   "We've been long admirers of Linkin Park and it was wonderful for us to collaborate on something special like this."

"We have always been huge fans of Linkin Park," says Carol Mendelsohn, the show's executive producer.  "They have an anthemic sound that's full of strength and simultaneous vulnerability.  They were perfect for the show and the conflict within it."

In addition to "Leave Out All The Rest," "Minutes to Midnight" spawned four other top 10 hits ("Bleed It Out," "What I've Done," "Shadow of the Day," "Given Up") and, according to the IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry), earned Linkin Park the title of 2007's best-selling rock band.  In other news, Linkin Park recently received an American Music Award nomination for "Favorite Artist - Alternative Rock Music."  The band has also announced a November 25th release for "Road to Revolution," a special CD/DVD set featuring 18 of the group's biggest hits recorded live at the Milton Keynes National Bowl in Southeast England, during the sold-out European leg of this past summer's Project Revolution tour.

NBC UNIVERSAL HONORS DIVERSE FILMMAKERS AT THIRD ANNUAL COMEDY SHORT CUTS FILM FESTIVAL ON OCTOBER 23

Universal City, Ca., October 17th, 2008.                NBC Universal's multi-pronged creative entities will present the company's third annual "Comedy Short Cuts" Diversity Film Festival honoring this year's finalist filmmakers on Thursday, October 23, at Universal Studios Globe Theater in Los Angeles, it was announced today by Ben Silverman, Co-Chairman, NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios.

Shaun Robinson of Access Hollywood will host this exclusive event featuring the top six Comedy Short Cuts finalist films, which were produced with a diverse production team, cast or theme.

"We are proud to continue our tradition of supporting this influential film festival that encourages innovative filmmakers and enhances our vital diversity program," said Silverman.

The filmmaker(s) of the Best Film will receive a pilot script commitment from Universal Media Studios. Awards will also be presented to the Best Director and an NBC talent holding deal will go to the Best Actor of the year. This year's finalists are Owen Thomas ("The Road"), Marty Johnson ("Strange Faculty"), Fabian Marquez ("Little Bones"), Rafael Del Toro ("6ft In 7 Mins"), Iman Zawahry ("Tough Crowd"), and Deon Hayman ("The Don of Virgil Jr. High").

Paula Madison, Executive Vice President of Diversity, NBC Universal said, "Comedy Short Cuts brings together the many assets of NBC Universal and remains an essential component in our ongoing efforts to realize more diversity within our programming. In addition, it is exciting and entertaining just to see the full spectrum of film creativity that is presented at the festival, knowing that the finalists will see their work spotlighted on a huge stage."

Corporate support of this year's initiative came from sponsors such as Showbiz Software, American Airlines, and Coca-Cola North America.

"We are proud to sponsor the 2008 NBC Comedy Short-Cuts Film Festival as part of our commitment to emerging talent in television and film," says Steve Bizenov, Vice President, Sales & Software Development for Media Services, who oversees the company's Showbiz Software division. "We've supported the independent production industry for years by delivering better software, services and resources to indie filmmakers, so it was a natural fit for us to participate in this important initiative."
"American Airlines is proud to sponsor the NBC Universal Comedy Short Cuts Film Festival, and play a role in supporting diversity in the world of film and television," said an American Airlines marketing executive.

Comedy Short Cuts Film Festival was founded in 2005 by actor/writer/comedian Wil Sylvince, a Haitian American comedian, whose stand-up routine often mines his Haitian heritage for laughs. Sylvince recognized the need for this platform based on the challenges he faced in trying to showcase his talent to key decision makers within the entertainment industry. His dream became a reality when NBC Universal supported his vision to launch this very important diversity initiative.

Comedy Short Cuts Film festival is also a celebration of www.diversecitynbc.com, the online community that serves as a hub for diversity across all aspects of the entertainment industry spearheaded by Kendra Carter, Director Talent Diversity Initiatives, for NBC Universal.

Comedy Short Cuts is a company-wide initiative and is one of many live events produced by NBC's Talent Diversity Division, whose goal is to cultivate diversity both in front of and behind the camera. This year's panel of judges includes creative executives: Kate Schumaecker (Superb Entertainment), Jeff Ingold (NBC) and Lauren Anderson (Universal Media Studios). Jay Chandrasekhar (Director/Writer-Super Troopers, The Dukes of Hazzard) will also serve as a judge at the event.

Semi-finalist films were screened in New York City in conjunction with the New York Television Festival on September 15. The event was hosted by Anthony Anderson of NBC's "Law & Order."

Last year, a blind script commitment with Universal Media Studios was presented to Tajamika Paxton and Gregory M.T. Colleton for their film "A Fat Girl's Guide to Yoga" – a film short about a plus-size African-American woman's yoga journey to lose weight. The filmmakers are currently developing projects with Universal Media Studios' Conaco Productions.

QUOTABLES FROM NBC'S 'LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O'BRIEN'

OCTOBER 13 – OCTOBER 17

"Yesterday, a Congressman from Georgia said that John McCain's personal attacks on Barack Obama are 'sowing the seeds of hatred.' McCain responded by saying, 'I'm 73, I haven't sowed any seeds in 30 years.'"

"Newsweek magazine is being criticized because last week's cover featured an unflattering picture of Sarah Palin. Palin says it's the worst thing the press has done to her since that time they made her answer a question."

"This weekend, the leaders of the world's richest countries got together to discuss the global economic meltdown. President Bush wanted to go the meeting, but after last week, the U.S. is no longer one of the world's richest countries."

"Today the Pope announced that he is going to canonize the first ever saint from India. Apparently the Indian saint performed 3 miracles – and fixed the Pope's computer when his hard drive crashed."

"In a new interview, Nicole Richie said she has no plans to get married but it could happen eventually. Then Richie said the same thing about lunch."

"A publisher is coming out with a modern version of the Bible where many of the most recognizable biblical characters have been replaced by celebrities like Angelina Jolie. However, Larry King will still play himself."

"The other day in Florida, a woman was arrested because she poured boiling water on her husband's penis. Officials say the woman will spend several years in jail – and the man will spend the rest of his life shrieking every time he sees a teapot."

"In a new interview, Star Jones said that she's ready to fall in love again. Star said, 'The last time I fell in love was when they put the cheese in the pizza crust.'"

"In an interview, the boyfriend of Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter says that at first he was nervous attending the Republican convention with the Palins, but then he was like, whatever. He also admitted that he writes Sarah Palin's speeches."

"A group linked to Democrats is now being investigated because they've been accused of falsifying voter registration forms, including one for Mickey Mouse. President Bush was furious when he heard this because he thought Mickey Mouse was a Republican."

"President Bush announced today he is going to have the federal government put $250 billion into U.S. banks. President Bush also said that if he's putting that much money into a bank they better give him a big-ass toaster."

"This week on the campaign trail, John McCain talked about his next debate with Barack Obama and said, "I'm going to whip his you-know-what." Then McCain vowed to hit Obama in the "watchamacallit" and kick him in the 'thingamajig.'"

"In Florida, a man was arrested because he was stoned in a McDonald's drive-thru and attempted to pay for his order with marijuana. Workers became suspicious because Happy Meals don't make people that happy."

"At the Virginia Beach Aquarium, a female shark has given birth to a baby shark even though she's never had contact with a male shark. At least that's what she's telling her parents."

"In a new interview, Star Jones says that she's ready to fall in love again. As a result the terror alert has been raised to Orange."

"Earlier this evening, the third presidential debate was held and Hillary Clinton was sitting in the audience. In fact, when John McCain was attacking Barack Obama, you could hear Hillary yelling, 'Get'em!'"

"Yesterday, Sarah Palin had her motorcade stop at a Wal-Mart so she could buy a bag of diapers. Palin said she wouldn't have made the stop for diapers, but John McCain is completely out."

"Speaking of babies - Yesterday in New York City a woman gave birth to a baby at JFK airport. People at JFK were shocked because it was the first time in years they have seen an on-time arrival. "

"Josh Brolin, who plays President Bush in the new movie "W", says at first he wasn't sure he should take the role – because it would be such an acting challenge. Brolin says he prepared for the role by getting up everyday – running 5 miles – and then bashing himself in the head with a hammer."

"Tough break for Geraldo Rivera - This weekend, one of Geraldo Rivera's cars caught on fire. Afterwards, police said, 'The airbag is destroyed but the douchebag is fine.'"

"67% of Americans say they've seen enough and they don't want any more Presidential debates. The other 33% are plumbers who want to hear their name on television."

"By the way - John McCain mentioned 'Joe the Plumber' during last night's debate 21 times. Experts are already comparing it to the 2004 debate – when President Bush wouldn't shut up about 'Larry the Cable Guy.'"

"More details coming out about 'Joe the Plumber' – for instance – his real name's not Joe – and he's not a licensed plumber. However, the McCain campaign insists that the 'the' is accurate."

"In a recent interview, Levi Johnston – the father of Bristol Palin's baby – said that he's excited to get married and start a family. Then he said, 'What 17-year-old guy with his whole life in front of him WOULDN'T want to settle down in Alaska?'"

"In New York, a man was arrested because he got drunk onboard a plane and grabbed the pilot's genitals. Afterwards, police had to explain to the man that airlines no longer give out free nuts."

"In a speech earlier this week, John McCain said the following, he said, "I've been fighting for the United States of America since I was seventeen years old." Then he said, 'of course back then it was Pangea.'"

"Sarah Palin remains very popular. I face, this week in Tennessee a man named his newborn baby after Sarah Palin. The man named his baby Sarah Palin after he asked it to name 3 countries, and it just stared blankly in his face."

"The other day in New York City, a woman gave birth to a baby at JFK Airport. The woman was thrilled intil they charged her $75 dollars for the extra carry-on."

QUOTABLES FROM 'SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE'S WEEKEND UPDATE WITH AMY POEHLER AND SETH MEYERS'

New York, N.Y., October 20th, 2008.

"WEEKEND UPDATE" CO-ANCHOR AMY POEHLER – "Despite enormous fluctuations in the Dow Jones Average this week, billionaire investor Warren Buffett announced Friday that he will continue to invest in the stock market during the current financial crisis. So remember everyone, this is no time to panic, as long as you're the richest man on Earth."

POEHLER – "Former Vice President Dan Quayle has advised vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin to 'just be yourself.' Unfortunately, he spelled 'yourself' with three L's and a six."

"WEEKEND UPDATE" CO-ANCHOR SETH MEYERS -- "Newark, New Jersey's Catholic archbishop is upset that part of Bill Maher's new movie 'Religulous' was filmed at his parish, but not as upset as he was the day the Lord chose him to be Archbishop of Newark."

MEYERS – "Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts this week wrote a legal decision that was a parody of a Mickey Spillane novel using phrases such as 'tough as a three-dollar steak' and 'just another day at the office.' Not to be outdone, Justice Clarence Thomas wrote a decision as a Letter to Penthouse."

POEHLER – "According to a new survey, black people in America save and invest less money than white people. A decision, I'm guessing, black people are feeling pretty good about right now."

POEHLER – "In a new memoir, Brady Bunch star Maureen McCormick admits that she was a cocaine fiend, who swapped sex for drugs, partied at the Playboy Mansion and slept with co-star Barry Williams. This comes on the heels of last summer's hot memoir, 'Tiger: Anybody's Bitch.'"

MEYERS – "Sex offenders in Maryland are now required to post signs that read, "No candy at this residence," on Halloween or face a possible parole violation. They are also being required to take down the signs that read "Knock if you can keep a special secret."

MEYERS – "It is rumored that Madonna and Guy Ritchie's divorce has been caused by Madonna's relationship with Yankee Alex Rodriguez. This just after Rodriguez announced he was separating from his wife of six years, Derek Jeter."

POEHLER – "Belgian Luc Costermans this week broke the world blind driver speed record, reaching a top speed of 192 mph. That's what they told him, anyway.

POEHLER – "A woman in California who took her 12 year-old daughter to a park to fight another girl has been arrested after allegedly joining in the fight. I, for one, can only imagine what it's like to have a mother who loves you that much.

MEYERS -- "Retired surgeon Gary Michelson is offering 75 million dollars to the first person or group who can come up with new ways to sterilize cats and dogs. Meanwhile cats and dogs are offering 80 million dollars to anyone who can assassinate Gary Michelson."

MEYERS – "Two Indonesian men believe they were put into a trance by a mystic causing them to get tattoos of dragons on their faces after being promised jobs as government intelligence officers. The mystic's name: Captain Morgan."

MEYERS – "A second teenager has been left at an area hospital under Nebraska's new safe-haven law, which allows parents to abandon their children without fear of prosecution. Or what is known in Manhattan as boarding school."

POEHLER – "After two weeks of cancelled shows on her 'Rock Witchu' tour, Janet Jackson revealed that she has been suffering from 'migraine-associated vertigo.' So while she may not be able to 'rock witchu' she may be able to 'sit witchu' or 'lean against something really stable witchu.'
