(October 25th - Editor)          NBC Universal President and CEO, Jeff Zucker and Lauren Zalaznick, Chaiman, NBC Universal Green Council and President, Bravo Media announced an initiative called "Green Is Universal" that will focus on making the operations at their group of companies as environmentally friendly as possible while using their reach in the media to increase public awareness for green practices and products. They pledged to deliver more than 150 hours of green-themed content that will focus on ways that the average person can make a difference. A world-wide multiple platform campaign will begin on November 4th during the "Sunday Night Football" game between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. NBC's "Football Night in America" host Bob Costas will explain the programming effort on NBC during the NFL studio show as NBC Universal’s networks simultaneously turn their respective network logos green at 8 p.m. ET. The broadcast also will feature additional announcements about "Green Is Universal," as well as incorporate the themes throughout its broadcast on Sunday night.

          Fans of The Amazing Race can celebrate the return of the reality game show for a 12th version on November 4th. Host Phil Keoghan will return to the 5 time Emmy Award-winning series to officiate over 11 teams who will compete against each other to be the first to circle the globe and win a $1 Million dollar prize waiting for then at the end of their journey. This season, teams will travel approximately 50,000 miles, covering five new countries including Ireland, Lithuania and Croatia. The series had initially been taken off the CBS schedule, but at the request of fans, the network elected to bring the back once again. Before it was cancelled, the series averaged more then 10  million viewers per week. That is better than several of the new series this season.

          The first casualty of the fall season is the experimental musical drama Viva Laughlin. The plot was strong enough, but even stars Hugh Jackman and Melanie Griffith were not enough to keep the audience watching during the musical numbers.

          Celebrations were held on the respective sets of Big Bang Theory and The Unit as CBS announced full season orders for both series. The Unit is attracting an average of nearly 12 million viewers weekly so far this season, while The Big Theory is gaining an additional 8% audience from its lead-in, How I Met Your Mother and is also the strongest comedy offing of the season.

            Actress Betty White (Golden Girls, The Mary Tyler Moore Show) has agreed to be a guest star on the ABC one hour drama series Ugly Betty. White arrived on the set on October 22nd and will spend the week playing herself in an episode that will be titled "Bananas For Betty". In the episode, Wilhelmina (Vanessa Williams) is trying to change her image as the queen of mean, only to be met with a major setback when she manhandles an older woman in an effort to take the lady's cab away from her. Of course the victim is White and the incident is captured by bystanders on their camera phones. An air date for the episode has not been announced.

          The action drama series 24 will return to the FOX network with a two part special event airing Sunday, January 13th and Monday, January 14th. The network will announce the return of the series with a special preview of the new season to air on the News Astrovision by Panasonic in Times Square in New York City at 1pm ET. At the same time, the rest of the world will be able to see the preview at a special WEB site created for the preview at www.24trailer.com The network also plans to air the preview during game 2 of the World Series, Thursday night on the network.

            The one hour action series Prison Break will have its Fall Finale on Monday, December. 17th. It will return to the FOX schedule in its regular time period Monday, April 14, 2008, and will air original episodes into June, along with 24.

          The spin-off series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has been given a time slot on FOX starting Monday, January 14th. Again facing relentless Terminators that will stop at nothing until John Connor, the future leader of the resistance, is eliminated, Sarah Connor stops running and starts fighting back against fate and the machines that are out for her son in the highly anticipated new series. Unfolding where the film “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” leaves off, the weekly series finds Sarah (Lena Headey) and her 15-year-old son John Connor (Thomas Dekker) alone in a dangerous world. As fugitives from the law, they are confronted by the ever-evolving technological enemy bent on destroying them and perhaps the world. Balancing his inevitable fate as the possible savior of mankind and his current life as an ordinary high school student, John must learn what it takes to become the future leader of the people’s resistance. His only friend is Cameron (Summer Glau), an enigmatic and otherworldly student at his high school who soon proves to be much more than his confidante. She assumes the role of Sarah and John’s fearless protector. Together, Sarah, John and Cameron, all extraordinary in their own right, attempt to become a normal family. On their trail are not only threats from the future, but an intelligent and tough FBI agent, James Ellison (Richard T. Jones), who just may become a powerful ally.
